THE Middle East Mineral Wool Insulation Manufacturers Association (Memima) discussed industry issues and outlined goals for advancement at its annual meeting in Dubai, UAE.
Industry representatives from across the Middle East and near Asian attended the conference, which was held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Stone wool and glass wool manufacturers deliberated on major industry issues and agreed to set up cooperative programmes that will advance both products and processes, particularly through research and development – a neglected pursuit in the world of insulation.
The meeting also discussed QSHE (quality, safety, health and environment) issues.
Representatives of Kuwait Insulating Material Manufacturing Company (Kimmco), Arabian Fiberglass Insulation Company (Afico), Saudi Rockwool Factory Company (SRF) and Azel Rockwool Insulation (Saudi Arabia), Fujairah Rockwool Factory and Rockwool Limited (India) agreed to be proactive in ensuring that the international objectives of QSHE are met in the region.
At the meeting, Afico general manager Antoine Abou Mansour was named as president of the association, and Kimmco general manager Bechir Dardour as vice-president.
