BAHRAIN’S Al Taweel Group, a leading construction and heavy transportation company, has bought 50 new Mercedes Benz Actros trucks in a deal worth BD2 million ($5.3 million).
The trucks are being delivered by Al Haddad Motors – Mercedes Benz’s partner in Bahrain – in two batches before the end of next month.
Jaber Al Taweel, group general manager said: “We aim to enhance our partnership with Mercedes Benz and support our fleet with more vehicles in the future. We have found Mercedes trucks to be unique in their class, strong and suitable for heavy work such as cargo, discharging aggregate and sand and with the ability to save diesel as well.”
The new vehicles have more power, consume less fuel, provide more comfort and are environment-friendly.
“The trucks provide high visibility, better driving comfort, efficient electronic control, flexibility in shifting between various operating systems, in addition to providing operational data every second,” he said.
Al Taweel also said that Al Haddad offers efficient and fast after-sales services at its Mercedes services centre in the kingdom.
Al Taweel Group specialises in work dealing with road construction, heavy equipment leasing and infrastructure projects. Its recent projects include Durrat Al Bahrain, Riffa Views, Amwaj Islands and Al Dur Independent Water and Power Project.
