TOURISM Development & Investment Company (TDIC) has named Abu Dhabi-based contractors for infrastructure and construction work as part of the first phase of Saadiyat Beach Villas on Saadiyat Island.

Al Jaber Building has been entrusted with the construction 354 villas which will be built alongside the Jawaher Al Saadiyat model villas located in the Saadiyat Beach District. Contracting company Hilalco is in charge of infrastructure work such as road works and utilities.
The first phase of the development involves the construction of three to six-bedroom villas with varying luxuriously designed layouts in Mediterranean, Arabian and contemporary styles.
All villas are designed to exude elements of elegance and comfort and some of the top-end luxury villas will even have their own gymnasium, elevator, swimming pool and movie theatre.
“Our decision to select Al Jaber and Hilalco reflects our commitment to ensure a prompt development of Saadiyat Island’s residential districts,” said Lee Tabler, TDIC’s chief executive officer.
“Despite the current market challenges, construction on Saadiyat Island is on track, proving its value as a promising and long-term investment for its future residents,” he adds.
Jihad Khaled, managing director of Al Jaber Building, said: “We are very pleased to be awarded the construction of the Saadiyat Beach Villas and add one of TDIC’s iconic landmarks to our portfolio. This will be a challenging project for us, allowing us to demonstrate our vast experience and capabilities.”
UAE and GCC national investors will be offered homes on a freehold basis with expatriates qualifying for 99-year leases.
“As a local Abu Dhabi-owned company, we are proud to work on this development and look forward to the success and delivery of this infrastructure project to TDIC,” said Antonios Polos, senior project manager of Hilalco.
Work on Saadiyat Island is moving at a steady pace with new projects such as the Saadiyat bridge and expressway, the Gary Player-designed Saadiyat Beach Golf Course and the Saadiyat Experience Centre (Manarat Al Saadiyat), providing an overview of the island’s distinctive projects.
