

GRNATA Group, a leading Bahrain-based group dealing in property, will be demonstrating new technologies and products when it makes its debut at gulfBID.
The company will showcase products from leading foreign companies at its stand, many of which will be new on the Bahrain market. These include a number of products from Spain such as La Scandella’s ruff painting, Parra Industrias’ sun shelters and Triflex’s double-glazed windows and doors; as well as scaffolders from Malaysian World Trade Technology; and lighting products from Germany.
Commenting on its objectives in participating at gulfBID, a spokesman for the company says: “At gulfBID, we aim to present our new image as a construction company with modern construction materials from leading international companies. We will be primarily targeting construction companies, contractors and individuals.”
The company’s sales figures for last year were promising, indicating an increasing demand for its products and services and these figures are expected to grow this year, says to the spokesman.
According to Fatima Mageed, the legal adviser of Grnata real estate group, the company has acquired new technologies and agencies and is looking at diversifying its activities, in a bid to remain competitive in the face the global financial crisis.
“We are focusing on expanding our core activities to establish a solid base while establishing ties with new companies to secure our sources for construction materials,” she says.
Grnata is also focusing on expanding its operations in the Gulf, particularly in Saudi Arabia and Oman, where it intends to set up new offices.
Commenting about the prospects for the GCC construction industry, Mageed says: “The construction industry in the GCC needs to diversify from developing skyscrapers and luxurious residences, and direct its resources to building factories, low-income housing units and urbanising the desert, in order to ensure a secure and sustainable development of the region.”
Headquartered in the Seef District, Grnata Group was established to sell, purchase and rent out and construct property.
The group, which employs around 100 staff, encompasses a number of divisions including Grnata Towers for Contracting and Maintenance, Grnata Properties Management and Development; Grnata Real Estate Valuation and Consultation, Grnata for Cleaning and Painting, Decoration, Gypsum; Bahrain Gate for Advertisement and Publication; Grnata Real Estate, Grnata Properties Selling and Buying; and Grnata Clearance.
Commenting on one of the newest members within the group, he says: “In spite of being new in the market, Grnata Towers for Contracting is building many projects and is keen to enter the high-rise market during this year.
“To ensure the quality of materials, Grnata has a material testing laboratory, which has access to the services of consultancies, engineers and chemical technicians in the field of quality management. This allows Grnata to set up simultaneously more than one mobile lab at a number of sites.” The company will be exhibiting at Stand No 1A21.
