ADONIS Décor, an innovative interior and exterior designing company in the UAE, is confident of the potential that the Gulf market holds despite the global economic downturn and will be at this year’s edition of gulfBID to promote its capabilities in carving and metal finish technology.

With an optimistic outlook, the interior fit-out contractor is looking forward to making the most of the event. “Even in this global economic slowdown, the Middle East is the place where the confidence level is relatively high, with lots of projects still under way. We believe that gulfBID will attract lots of visitors who can be our potential clients, hence we opted to participate in this event,” says Mahesh Nair, general manager of Adonis.
Adonis is making its maiden appearance at gulfBID, through which it aims to focus on the northern Gulf countries with Bahrain as a main target for 2010.
The company can cater to the gamut of interior and exterior architectural needs, from design conceptualisation and calculation to site execution and handover. Its range of services includes interior designing, decoration, civil works, hard and soft finishes to floor and walls, partitions and ceilings, gypsum decoration works, fabrication works in steel, aluminium and cladding materials, carpentry and joinery works and MEP (mechanical electrical and plumbing) works.
“Our metal products are surely an added value for designer wall panels. They can be used for false ceiling decoration,” says Nair.
Commenting on business levels, he says: “We have seen a 55 per cent growth in business from 2007 to 2008, and we expect a sustainable growth for this year too even though we are in the midst of a global recession. While there is a slowdown in construction activity, as an interior designer company, we think we have enough scope for the next several months with the ongoing projects, which are nearing completion,” he adds.
Adonis is adept at using advanced technology in the field of designing. Using the Flexi Cam CNC router, it does various kinds of two- and three-dimensional works.
“In the range of 2D works, we can cut different kinds of geometrical shapes and any kind of artworks, lettering, besides giving an engraving and embossing effect to the work,” he says.
In 3D works, the company can create doors panels with carved patterns custom-designed to client’s requirements, decorative partitions, mashrabiya-type partitions, portraits, service decorative motifs for doors, wall panelling, ceilings and other interior décor as per clients’ request.
The interior designing specialist has successfully delivered many turnkey projects, ranging from hotels, shopping malls, villas, commercial showrooms, jewellery showrooms, hospitals, offices, renovation and refurbishment jobs, ceiling and partitions, wall coverings and floorings, and manufacture and installation of all types of wooden furniture.
Some of these projects include the National Bank of Umm Ul Quwain in Dubai; Naser Al Sayer and Clipsal showrooms in Abu Dhabi; Perlite Factory in Sharjah; and Rado Showroom in Muscat.
As part of the Arackal Group, the company is looking to expansion beyond the GCC. Taking a step in that direction, it recently set up its Indian joinery division with a new factory in Kerala and is looking at opportunities for further expansion.
“Our main focus is to consolidate the UAE and Indian operations by expanding our GCC customer network,” says Nair.
Adonis Décor is an ISO 9001:2000-certified company, which was established in 2002. In this short period, it has come a long way and now has factories in Dubai and Ajman and an office in Sharjah.
The company employs 170 people and has an annual turnover of $10 million.
It will be present at Stand 1A24 at gulfBID.
