With the pumping of the final concrete into place, some 150 m above ground, The World Trade Centre Residence (WTCR) project has achieved another major milestone recently marking the completion of the superstructure of the upper tower.
The project continues to run according to the developer’s master schedule and to celebrate this achievement, the project team held a ‘topping out’ ceremony at which key executives and management from the main stakeholder organisations were present to show their appreciation to the project team for its efforts to date.
“We are all working hard to achieve the primary programme objectives, which are to complete the main construction works before the end of 2007 and then commence a phased handover to the buyers in the early part of 2008,” says Ali H Odeh, chairman of Turner Construction International Middle East, WTCR’s project managers.
The WTCR construction team includes Swissboring for foundations, Dubai Contracting Company for superstructure and finishes, Bilt Middle East for MEP, Al Abbar Aluminium for cladding and ETA Melco for vertical transportation.
When completed, the World Trade Centre Residence, will house 375 one to four-bedroom luxury apartments and two penthouses, which have been designed to the very highest international standards. Facilities offered include a Residents’ Club, with stunning views of the surrounding area, adjacent lounging deck with adult and children’s pools, a state-of-the-art gymnasium, business meeting rooms and ample basement car parking.
Jumeirah Living, the new luxury residences and serviced apartments division of Jumeirah Group, will manage all WTCR apartments with a complete range of luxury hospitality services.
The project developers have also given special attention to the development of information and communication technology systems to ensure that buyers enjoy the highest technological conveniences – that include hi-tech security, WiFi, and home automation systems.
