The Durrat Al Bahrain ... luring buyers.

The second phase of the $1.2 billion (BD452.4 million) Durrat Al Bahrain project has been well received while the project’s first phase – launched last month – has already been sold out.

“More than 300 of the 460 villas on sale in the second phase were sold out on the first day. Last month, all 390 villas of the first phase offered in the luxury residential resort under construction were sold out in one day,” said Durrat Khaleej Al Bahrain Company deputy general manager and chief operating officer Jassim Al Jowder.
The second phase of the development includes 460 villas scattered on four islands. The first phase will include 318 villas, ranging in size from 750 sq m plots to 1,000 and 1,500 sq m on the larger Atoll islands, while 72 villas, built on 500 sq m plots, will be built on the smaller Petal island.
Durrat Al Bahrain will consist of 13 distinctive islands to be developed over 20 sq km of pristine desert and sea. The residential and resort city to be completed by late 2009, will comprise 2,000 villas, 3,000 apartments and various community facilities including schools, mosques, health centres, an 18-hole golf course and sports and leisure facilities specifically suited to 30,000 full time residents. In addition, a promenade featuring a marina and commercial facilities encompassing a variety of traditional suqs and modern shopping areas as well as numerous restaurants and cafes will ensure both residents and visitors a variety of activity.
