Since its launch, Global Infrastructure Expo has evolved into one of the region’s most significant trade exhibitions for infrastructure stakeholders.

Saudi Arabia’s largest infrastructure event – the Global Infrastructure Expo – is set to return to Riyadh this month (September 15 to 17) offering a gateway to the kingdom’s market that has more than $1 trillion worth of investments planned or under way.

Saudi Arabia is entering an era defined by vast urban expansion, transport upgrades and technology integration; the event offers a platform to network with decision-makers, suppliers and project leaders across the sector.

The exhibition, now in its fourth edition, is held under the patronage of Prince Dr Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region and Chairman of the Board of Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Centre (RIPC), which also a Strategic Partner of the event. The support reflects the central role the event plays in connecting government priorities with private sector capabilities at a time when Saudi Arabia is accelerating efforts to achieve the goals of Vision 2030, according to dmg events, the organiser of the show.

Since its launch, Global Infrastructure Expo (formerly Saudi Infrastructure Expo) has steadily evolved into one of the region’s most significant trade exhibitions for infrastructure stakeholders.

This year, the exhibition spans 25,000 sq m and will feature more than 300 exhibitors from over 25 countries, including Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, China, Egypt, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Poland and the US.

The scale of participation mirrors the international attention Saudi Arabia’s mega and giga projects are drawing. From futuristic transport systems to major housing and utility developments, the demand for expertise, materials and advanced technology is attracting interest from companies large and small. More than 15,000 visitors are expected, among them senior government officials, project owners, engineers, architects, planners and private investors.

“Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure ambitions are setting international benchmarks, with projects that serve domestic needs while positioning the kingdom as a hub for trade and commerce,” said Muhammed Kazi, Senior Vice President, dmg events. “Global Infrastructure Expo is a strategic meeting place for industry leaders and suppliers to align with national priorities, enabling partnerships that can deliver value and practical solutions to the market. In doing so, the event supports Vision 2030 by building the connections and insights that will shape the future of infrastructure in the kingdom.”

The expo will run at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre (RICEC), alongside Saudi Smart Cities Expo, further strengthening its role as a comprehensive platform for urban development and infrastructure dialogue.

Saudi companies at the forefront

While the exhibition welcomes a wide array of international participants, Saudi Arabian companies are equally well represented. Long-established firms such as Amiantit, a specialist in water infrastructure; Al Ayuni, a major contractor in the Kingdom; UNIMAC, known for heavy civil works; Saudi Binladin Group, a name synonymous with large-scale construction; and SAJCO, a veteran contractor in the field, will demonstrate their capabilities across utilities, transport networks and large-scale building projects.

These companies are integral to the country’s infrastructure progress, particularly as mega and giga projects like The Red Sea, Qiddiya, Diriyah, ROSHN, NEOM, King Salman Park and New Murabba move forward. Together, they reflect the depth of expertise within the kingdom and the role of local industry in meeting national infrastructure goals, said Kazi.

International expertise and collaboration

Alongside local firms, the exhibition will welcome established global names including Maccaferri, Nemetschek Group, Western Bainoona Group and Rashmi Metaliks.

More than 15,000 visitors are expected at the Global Infrastructure Expo.

Their contributions span sectors ranging from geotechnical engineering and digital construction solutions to steel production and road networks.

“The involvement of these companies highlights the international collaboration required to deliver projects at the scale Saudi Arabia has embarked upon,” Kazi pointed out.

“For many exhibitors, Riyadh offers not only access to one of the world’s most active infrastructure markets, but also an opportunity to share knowledge and adapt global expertise to local requirements.” n

Global Infrastructure Forum

One of the central features of the event is the Global Infrastructure Forum, co-organised with RIPC. Themed ‘Scaling Ambition. Executing Vision. Enabling Growth’, the forum will explore the opportunities and challenges that accompany the kingdom’s ambitious programme.

Speakers will include Engr Fahad Suliman Albadah, CEO of Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center; Harpreet Hanjra, Infrastructure, Mobility & Utilities Director, The Royal Commission for AlUla; Bader Muhammed Altamimi, VP of Planning, Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center; and Sasha Sud, Senior Director Smart Cities, AtkinsRéalis.

Discussions will address topics such as ‘Harnessing artificial intelligence and digital tools to optimise infrastructure delivery’; ‘Developing new models of financing and strengthening public–private partnerships; ‘Integrating planning across transport, utilities and housing projects’; and ‘Balancing economic development with sustainable, resilient infrastructure solutions’.

By focusing on practical approaches, the forum aims to translate Vision 2030’s infrastructure objectives into strategies that can be executed effectively.

Infra360: Technical insights

Complementing the high-level discussions, Infra360 will run a series of technical sessions, case study presentations and product demonstrations. Aimed at engineers, contractors and planners, these sessions are designed to provide actionable insights that can be applied directly to ongoing and upcoming projects.

Whether it is understanding the application of advanced construction software, exploring new methods in sustainable road building, or engaging with live demonstrations of digital monitoring tools, Infra360 offers a practical, hands-on dimension to the wider exhibition.

“As Saudi Arabia advances one of the world’s largest infrastructure investment agendas, events such as Global Infrastructure Expo are becoming increasingly important. They create a focal point for international suppliers to connect with Saudi Arabian stakeholders, for local companies to showcase their capabilities and for policymakers to align with industry on best practices,” Kazi concludes.
