Armitage Shanks, a division of American Standard Plumbing (UK), has recently introduced innovative solutions for school washrooms in collaboration with Disney.
The Disney Washroom Collection has been designed to make children's washrooms as much fun as they are practical, says the company.
With over 180 years of experience, Armitage Shanks has come up with interesting school washroom concepts that have found a wide market in countries across the globe. According to a company representive, "The products are the result of extensive research into the demands of modern educational facilities."
Designed especially for the younger users, the Armitage Shanks Nursery and Infant range comes in attractive colours with all the details you would expect from the experts. The half-height cubicles have an easy-to-use lock with an emergency opening facility. Safe, economical Sensorflow technology means easy flushing of WCs and taps that cannot be left on whilst pre-mixed water protects delicate hands. The Disney Nursery and Infant range is an exclusive new washroom collection that combines durability with fun in the washroom.
The Disney Collection is also available as a junior washroom collection. The Disney Junior and Armitage Shanks Junior ranges are designed for children up to the age of eleven years old and to stand the test of time. Attractively-styled cubicles, easy-turn, anti-vandal taps, anti-scald devices and cost-effective waterless urinals are all designed to be easy to install with value for money high on the list of priorities.
Armitage Shanks also has the durable and easy to clean senior, the Shower and the High Impact ranges as well as the Special Care range for the physically challenged.
Another recent innovation from the company is a waterless urinal, which benefits from advanced new technology and requires no water to flush. The urinal is seen as a major step forward in the move towards reducing water usage in venues of intense public WC use. The potential water-saving benefits of waterless urinals have been recognised by venues such as London's QEII conference centre, which sees some 250,000 delegates passing through each year. It has embarked on a long-term refurbishment programme. According to the centre's facilities manager Vince Ayers, "Waterless urinals are well-suited to areas of intense use such as this, with its high density of passing traffic and therefore high water use."
Other public venues in the UK such as the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Heathrow Airport and McDonald's Restaurant in London's Regent Street with similarly high water also have adopted the system."
This innovative waterless system uses a replaceable cartridge into which the urine drains. It is filled with a biodegradable perfumed liquid, which eliminates unpleasant smells but is easily maintained and kept clean.
Not only is its modern design aesthetically pleasing but it's also hygienic, says Armitage Shanks. With no water to act as a breeding ground, waterless urinals help prevent the harbouring and growth of bacteria. Installation is both fast and easy as water supply pipes and cisterns are not necessary, resulting in lower installation costs, says the company.
