Unilam International Limited of the UK, which is presenting its products at the Big 5 show for the second year, plans to introduce its Vetrocolour glass-coating system for the first time, this time around.
The Vetrocolour glass coating system allows the customer to paint glass of any size in any colour without the need for firing the paint, as with ceramics.
Apart from Vetrocolour, Unilam also supplies flat and curved glass tempering and heat-soaking furnaces under the name of Cooltemper. The furnaces temper and heat-soak glass in thicknesses ranging from 3 to 25 mm tup to a size of 6,500 by 320 mm. Unilam also supplies cold-pour laminating systems that allow clients to produce laminated glass of any size in any thickness without the aid of machinery, says Keith Taylor of Unilam.
Commenting on the company's participation at a previous Big 5 show, Taylor says: 'We had a good exposure to the major clients in the region and received a good response from the Big 5 show 2001. Several orders from new customers were received following our presentation at the show. It is the quality of the show, plus the increasing importance of the Middle East that has led us to participate for the second time.'
Unilam, which was established in 1982, currently has a turnover of more than $6 million and employs 15 people. 'We has been doing good business and turnover is up by 18 per cent over that achieved by the company in the same period in the previous year,' says Taylor.
He says: 'Dubai is an increasingly important market for our products because of its reputation as a gateway to the whole of the Middle East. We believe that the prospects are good because the region is still developing and there should be growth there for several more years. Unilam's plans for the future include boosting our business levels in our target markets.'
