Expanding range

In a move to provide value to present and prospective customers, UAE-based Cosmoplast is expanding its product range by strategically collaborating with companies offering products that complement its locally-manufactured products.

Cosmoplast has recently introduced a complete range of polypropylene-random (PP-R) pipes and fittings that provide a long-term economical alternative to the traditional metal-based systems for the distribution of both hot and cold water within buildings. "The PP-R material properties make the product a valid, easy and durable option for installation and long-term usage," says a spokesman of the company.

Cosmoplast's new PP-R system, produced in partnership with Rietti of Italy one of the high-quality PP-R fittings manufacturers in Europe, will be used along with Rietti's fittings and sold as a package in the Middle East and African markets. The PP-R system is manufactured in accordance to the German standards DIN 8077/78 and DIN 16962, and has different applications ranging from the distribution of hot and cold water in both domestic and commercial buildings, transport of chemicals in the industrial applications, chilled water networks in the air conditioning systems, and compressed air networks, among others.

Both Cosmoplast pipes and Rietti fittings are manufactured under ISO 9000 quality management systems and are approved by international certification bodies, such as the SKZ, Becetel, Italian UNI, CIQS, Saudi Arabian Standards Organisation (Saso), and Ministry of Public Works in Kuwait, says the spokesman.

Cosmoplast has also introduced the PE-X system for water distribution giving another effective alternative for the hot and cold supply systems and central heating systems. The pipes are produced from cross-linked high-density polyethylene. The cross-linking process improves the properties of the polyethylene material, giving it the ability to withstand high temperatures at high pressures.

Says the spokesman: "Cosmoplast has established another partnership with Icma in Italy to present a full package of PE-X pipes and brass fittings. Icma specialises in the production of brass fittings, manifolds and accessories for water distribution and heating systems and also produces a wide range of flow, temperature and pressure controls, pressure-reducing valves, pressure-release valves, automatic air vents, pressure and temperature gauges, thermostatic controls, and much more. Icma products are well known and reputed all over Europe due to its unique patented features that provide incomparable reliable connections and controls.

The combination of Cosmoplast PE-X pipes and Icma fittings and accessories presents an excellent piping system for water distribution. The manifold system using the "pipe-in-pipe" technique, in which the PE-X pipe is laid inside a corrugated sleeve, presents the advantage of easy future replacement of any pipe without causing damage to tiles or floors.

In a similar partnership, Cosmoplast is now representing IVR Italy - a major European player in the manufacture of high-quality valves for water, gas, and oil applications. The IVR range of products covers many applications in hydraulic installations, water supply engineering and thermo-sanitary installations.

The range covers:
  • Ball valves manufactured from brass, DZR, stainless steel, and cast iron;
  • Gate valves manufactured from brass and DZR;
  • Specialised range of gas ball valves that conform to European, US, and Canadian standards;
  • Specialised range of control valves including check valves, foot valves, strainers, pressure-reducing valves, and radiators valves; and
  • A wide range of butterfly valves manufactured from cast iron.

    Quite like Cosmoplast, IVR has been in business for more than 27 years and utilises the highest technological production processes. "This has enabled IVR to be positioned as a leading player in the industry exporting to more than 50 countries around the world. An essential part of IVR success has been through achieving higher efficiency levels utilising technological innovation to fully automate its assembly lines," he says.

    IVR valves are approved by more than 20 certification bodies such as UL, FM, AGA, NSF and a lot more in Europe and North America. These approvals confirm the fact that IVR valves are produced for highly demanding and professional end users, says the spokesman.

    "The above collaborative ventures are just the first in a series of partnership agreements that Cosmoplast is presently negotiating and that are due to be announced over the next few months," he adds.
