Boma Apparatebau Gmbh, Duisburg, Germany will promote what it describes as the world's first high-pressure hot-waterjet system functioning at an operating pressure up to 800 bar (11,600 psi), among other attractions presented at bauma.
Elaborating on the Ecotherm 800, a spokesman for this leading manufacturer of high-pressure water devices says: ''The pressure is generated by Woma's new high-pressure plunger pump Type 45Y with pressure-sensitive speed control. At a nominal water flow rate of 21 l/min and a power rating of 38 kW, the water temperature gets as high as 95 deg C.
"The Ecotherm 800 is a sound-dampened, compact and mobile system with a weight of 1.2 tonnes on a trailer that is authorised according to the German STVZO. The water is heated in two simultaneously running heating coils with a heating power of 80 kW each. The Ecotherm 800 is also equipped with Woma's recently-developed electronic control system 'Digi-con' to set-up and control any important process parameters, including temperature, operating pressure, working hours, and oil pressure.
It features standard accessories, high-pressure guns, rotating nozzle carrier heads, tank and vessel cleaning nozzle as well as whirl nozzles.
It is said to be ideally suited for the efficient removal of coatings, organic growth, dispersion paint systems, grease, enamel, resin, plaster and soot from engineering constructions, containers, traffic vehicles, filters, tube bundles, sieves and drums.
