

German scaffolding specialist Wilhelm Layher GmbH will present many scaffolding components from it standard product range in addition to several interesting solutions and scaffolding news at bauma 2001. These are to be displayed in Hall A2, stand 313/412.
The leading European scaffold manufacturer expects to impress visitors to its 650-plus sq m stand with its innovative range of products. These include the Speedyscaf, manufactured in steel and aluminium, which is described as the "classic" facade scaffold of the Layher range, assembled with basic elements.
"With the system, a safe platform for all facade works can be achieved very quickly," assures a spokesman for Layher. "With this extremely fast but also robust and stable frame system, all requirements arising in the scaffold sector and in the craftsmen's trade are fulfilled in the same economic way."
Further advantages listed by the company including ergonomic handling enabling fatigue-free working, parts compatibility with other Layher systems and products and, integrated safety which ensures a correct and logical erection of the scaffolding.
Discussing a modular scaffold system offered by the company, he says: ''The Layher Allround Scaffolding has been established as a synonym for modular scaffolds on the market. With its unique, bolt-free connection technique, the patented Allround joint has replaced the conventional scaffold technique. The Allround scaffolding offers unsurpassed versatility in use: on construction sites, in industry, chemical industry, power plants, aircraft sector, shipyards, and in the events sector, theatres and arenas. Allround scaffolding does full justice to its reputation as an 'all-rounder'.''
He adds that Allround fulfils the requirements for a working, protection, facades or support scaffold in the most difficult structures and architecture including the engineering construction sector.
"The focus of this system is the Allround joint, permitting up to eight connections in one plane with automatic right angling and flexible angle selection using self-locking wedge head couplers," he explains.
Turning to the Layher Aluminium Rolling Tower family, he says the special merits of the system are the well-thought-out details and proven conception.
He continues: "The mobile scaffolds offer more space for the storage of tools and materials by facilitating freedom of movement and stability for safe working, both indoors and outdoors, at great heights. The lightweight aluminium construction, the fast and safe one-man assembly, the self-locking snap-on-claw - all these features make the Layher Rolling Tower a popular product in industry and craftsmen's trade.

A tribune offering 6,000 seats was erected for the audience directly in front of the Giza pyramids. More than 13,000 sq m of Allround scaffolding was used on the desert sand in order to enable each spectator to get a good view.
Wilhelm Layher, located in southern Germany, has been owned by the Layher family for 55 years. Its products are manufactured by more than 1,000 dedicated employees using up-to-date machines and are distributed worldwide. All scaffold components are produced under strict Layher quality controls, assuring high precision and permanent quality, the spokesman says. It is certified according to DIN ISO 9001 and 9002.
