Goldhofer specialised transport vehicles ... hi-tech.

Vehicle manufacturer Goldhofer, which in 2000 changed its corporate structure from a family-owned company to a joint-stock one, is determined to make a deep impression at bauma 2001 with the presentation of a representative cross- section of six vehicles from its extensive range.

"The company is very optimistic about and wants to demonstrated its leadership in technology," says Erich Traub, a spokesman for the company. As a family-owned vehicle manufacturer, the company held a lead the manufacture of all kinds of special transporters, he says. "Already in the first three quarters since the existence of the joint-stock company, Goldhofer has surpassed its targets.

The six vehicles it will put on show are:

  • A three- and four-axle trailer for classical construction machinery transport. This trailer range was completely reviewed by Goldhofer last year.

  • Two semitrailers with drop deck. These semitrailers with minimum loading heights in the drop deck are specifically constructed for transporting construction machines and working machines with overheight. When the gooseneck is detached, one vehicle can be loaded at the front while others can be loaded at the rear of the semitrailer. The drop deck is available in a hydraulic lift- and lowerable version.

  • The four-axle semitrailer of the STZ-L range on show is undoubtedly an exhibition highlight, says Traub. This versatile vehicle will prove its lead in quality, he adds.

  • A heavy-duty combination of the type THP/LTSO with twin tyres and hydraulic axle suspension. The combination is said to offer payloads of more than 65 tonnes at 80 km/hr. The bogie loading height of these vehicles is less than 800 mm.
