TRELAWNY, a leading UK manufacturer of pneumatic construction tools and surface preparation equipment, is to further boost its presence in the Gulf by appointing a dealer in Saudi Arabia.
“Trelawny products are available in the Gulf through its dealers in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait, and a dealer in Saudi Arabia will be appointed soon,” a company spokesman says.
He continues: “Trelawny has firmly established itself in the Gulf over the last decade and strives to improve its offering to meet the market potential. And now, we are seeing a high demand for build-and-finish quality, coupled with a desire to have projects completed on time.”
A key to Trelawny’s success has been forming new distribution alliances with professionally-managed distributors and stockists to serve the local market, and to further the development of existing partnership, he says.
“The company has set certain criteria for its partners, which include: organised professional service back-up; extensive spares inventory support to enable rapid on-site delivery; and active well-trained technical sales team with close market ties.”
“In ensuring that our local partners meet these specifications, Trelawny has become a key supplier in the region for pneumatic tools to scabble, roughen and reduce concrete; floor grinders to level, polish and prepare floors; compound mixing equipment to uniformly mix and pour at source a variety of cement products; and pneumatic vibration reduced scalers for steel descaling, used extensively in the marine and offshore industry as well,” the spokesman adds.
In-line with developing a professional network of dealers, Trelawny has an extensive development programme.
Recently, it brought into the market a range of planetary grinders (TPG) for the preparation of concrete, removal of coatings, coverings and adhesives and the production of a marble like finish on concrete in place of floor coverings.
All the machines have three diamond cutting heads, which rotate on a master disc.
The counter rotation of one of the discs ensures that the machine offers a balanced cutting action, which prevents the tool from ‘pulling’ the operator, an action that frequently occurs with other machines in the market.
The range consists of cutting diameters of 650, 480 and 300 mm, which offers the customer a versatile selection of preparation and finishing tools.
Optional diamond tooling includes the patented ‘Barracuda’ diamond, which is used for rapid concrete reduction and removal of all types of floor adhesives and residues.
Trelawny diamonds are bonded to the segment using the much preferred method of electrochemical casting, which produces significant advantages over the conventional method of sintering diamonds used in the process of saw blades, core drills and diamond tools by other manufacturers.
On Trelawny diamond products, each segment is electrochemically embedded, or ‘electrocasted’ directly onto the steel fixture or surface of the segment increasing endurance, calibre and efficiency of the diamond tool.
