ZAMIL Steel, a leading manufacturer of pre-engineered steel buildings and the Middle East’s premier supplier of steel products, opened a state-of-the-art facility in Pune, India, last month.
The $32-million facility, built on 87,000 sq m, has a production capacity of 30,000 tonnes of pre-engineered buildings (PEB) and other steel products per year.
The company is also planning to set up a second PEB manufacturing facility in India by 2011 depending on future demand in the Indian market.
Zamil Steel’s other planned divisions include structural steel, towers and galvanising, and canam joists and decking.
The company is already producing and supplying high-end PEBs to various customers in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Jamshedpur.
Adnan Al Mansour, president of Zamil Steel Industries, said: “The new facility will enable us to continue to provide a broad and expanding range of products that meet the varied needs of our widening customer base, appeal to new and current clients, and function as the building blocks of our growth and expansion across the region.”
