The Big 5

Production boost

Mabani’s PEB structures ... in great demand.

Mabani Steel, the Ras Al Khaimah-based manufacturer of pre-engineered steel buildings (PEB) which is determined to repeat the success it enjoyed at last year’s Big 5, is looking forward to the completion of the expansion of its facilities in the emirate and the opening up of new offices in the region.

The expansion, once complete next January, will add a monthly fabrication capacity of 2,000 tonnes of hot rolled steel structures (HRSS) to the company’s existing production capacity, says a company spokesman.
“We currently have a monthly capacity to produce 5,200 tonnes of PEB steel structures (PEBSS) and 800 tonnes of panels and panel accessories (PPA), or a total monthly PEB capacity of 6,000 tonnes,” says Muayyad Khudairi, president. “This addition of HRSS will greatly strengthen our position in the industrial, petrochemical, power and warehousing sectors and enable us to undertake large projects that often require hybrid steel structures, which make use of both built-up sections and hot rolled sections to achieve optimal economy.”
“We are keen on repeating the success that we have achieved at the Big 5 show last year,” Khudairi adds. “The show gives us the opportunity to position the company as a leading supplier of PEB in the region.”
Mabani Steel — which markets its products through area offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Riyadh and Muscat — also has plans to open additional area offices in Doha, Dammam and Jeddah in early 2008.
Mabani Steel offers optional erection services for its products in the UAE using its own workforce to enable it to extend the same level of attention to detail to the erection process that it embeds in the design and fabrication stages, says the spokesman.
The company claims to be the only PEB manufacturer in the Middle East that totally complies with the latest US codes applicable to PEB design and fabrication. It has also been recognised, by specialised PEB contractors, as the new benchmark in PEB, he states.
“Mabani Steel takes customers’ trust and confidence in its quotation submittals very seriously,” says Khudairi. “Customer drawings and specifications are thoroughly reviewed by area office technical staff and verified by senior estimating engineers at the head office to ensure that customer requests are fully met. A compliance statement that lists every assumption, deviation and exclusion in Mabani Steel’s scope of supply and comprehensive proposal drawings that illustrate the scope of supply are included in every proposal offer.”
“It is the thoroughness and clarity of our contracts, technical submittals, and marketing literature that has made us the most trusted PEB manufacturer in this market,” he adds.
“Technically, we are the most competent PEB manufacturer in this region. We have assembled a team of experienced PEB managers and supervisors that is unmatched in our industry in this region. Because we started from scratch, we designed our equipment, processes and products on the basis of the best practices in this industry and have made our products the easiest to erect,” Khudairi emphasises.
“We welcome inquiries from consultants, contractors and owners and can assure them the fastest and most accurate response to their queries,” he concludes.
Mabani Steel will be present at Hall 3 Stand C43 at the Big 5.
