Carillion Alawi wins contract
Muscat: The RO10.55 million ($27.4 million) Seeb Airport Interchange project has been awarded to Carillion Alawi, a leading civil contracting company.

The road project, one of several being implemented by Muscat Municipality in the capital area, will help address a major rush-hour bottleneck at the Seeb Airport roundabout, as well as streamline traffic along the key Sultan Qaboos Street.
Besides interconnecting with the Southern Expressway, the interchange will also facilitate smooth traffic flows in and out of Seeb International Airport, which is targeted for a major expansion over the next few years. Mobilisation work is currently under way.

Lock gates for Al Marsa
Manama: A pair of lock gates that will be used at the entrance of the canal system at Al Marsa Floating City arrived onsite at Amwaj Islands in Bahrain. The gates, to be located at the south end of the development, between the Meena 7 Towers and the Marina Club, are now ready to be installed.
International consultants the Halcrow Group designed the lock gates, each six m in length, while Nass Contracting Company was chosen as the constructor. They will soon be placed into a 40-m long, five-m deep lock basin that will accommodate boats up to 60 ft long. The watertight gates will be placed across the canal and as the water between the gates can be controlled, boats will be allowed to enter and leave the canal at their convenience regardless of the tide.
