Turkeybuild grows in size

Last year’s Turkeybuild was well attended.

The 29th International Turkeybuild 2006 Istanbul Fair, organised by The Building Information Centre, Turkey, is expected to showcase the latest in technology and products from more than 800 companies from 50 countries when it opens next month.

Slated to start from May 3, the five-day exhibition has grown in presence since last year and is the biggest fair of the Turkish Building Sector. This year’s exhibition will see the participants grouped in 10 different halls according to their fields of production, over an area about 60,000 sq m at the Tuyap Fair and Congress Centre in Beylikduzu, Istanbul.
“The fair will be the meeting point of visitors from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Middle East, North Africa as well as from all over Turkey,” says a spokesman for the organiser. “It is expected to contribute to the international development of the Turkish building sector, which grew of 19.7 per cent, leading the Turkish economy last year.
The event will include workshops, symposiums and exhibitions and the “Best Designed Stand” as well as the “Altinçekül” building material award.
The organisers of the International Yapi/Turkeybuild Istanbul 2006, have already held key meetings with the purchasing committees of foreign countries in charge of public investments. In accordance, visits of committees from Qatar, Sudan, Ukraine, Indonesia, The US, Canada, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Slovakia committees have been organised, says the spokesman.
