Projects executed by Haseeb Rasoul.

Major developments are under way at Haseeb Rasoul Company (HFZ) – a premier contract furnishing specialist in the UAE – as it gears itself to take advantage of the unprecedented construction developments unfolding in the region.

Haseeb Rasoul was established in 1966 at Sharjah as a family-owned business in the interiors and furnishing field, giving it the distinction of being one of the oldest production companies in the region.
The manufacturing facility, certified to ISO 9002, is equipped with the latest machinery ensuring streamlined production, which controls all aspects of the quality from procurement to delivery and installation.
The company offers a complete design-and-build package covering all elements of interior work from design to manufacturing and installation. Haseeb Rasoul has carried out a vast range of projects including hotels, furnished apartments, palaces, banks, universities and conference centres, in addition to numerous other types of public buildings and offices.
Haseeb Rasoul’s multinational workforce of 450 personnel, consisting of a dedicated team of managers, engineers, designers and skilled craftsmen, bring with them a wealth of experience in fine furnishing and interiors.
The company has just relocated to its purpose-built facility covering a massive 100,000 sq ft area in the Hamriya Free Zone in Sharjah, effectively almost doubling the production area of 60,000 sq ft it had previously occupied at Al Khan in Sharjah emirate.
“New advanced machinery has been acquired by Haseeb Rasoul which – combined with a substantial increase in the labour force – will greatly increase our production capabilities at the new facility. The company has also recently installed a state-of-the-art lacquer line, to further ensure the quality and consistency of the finished product,” states Duncan Howarth, contracts manager.
The company has also acquired land for a second production facility at the Dubai Investment Park with the intent of tapping the immense potential of projects in this region such as Dubai Marina, Palm Islands – Jumeirah, Jebel Ali, and Deira, Dubailand, Media City Complex area, and the multitude of other projects currently being developed. Here production will be targeted at the high-end market of discerning customers who want the best quality product available.
“Based on Haseeb Rasoul’s extensive experience extending over four decades, we are able to produce exquisite, handcrafted, gilded reproduction furniture for furnishing palaces, five-star hotels, and private residences. We pride ourselves on our ability and skill which allows us to manufacture custom-made furniture to meet the specific project requirements and specifications all within the allocated budgets,” states Howarth.
Raw materials for veneer and solid wood are generally sourced through nominated suppliers in the Scandinavian countries, Australia, US, Asia and Africa, depending upon the timber requirement for each project.
“The company achieved a significant growth in business despite the stiff competition and the price-conscious market, thanks to its enhanced capacity, its market flexibility and experience and its emphasis on quality business,” advises Sanjiv Kalra – group sales and marketing manager, who adds that prospects for next year are “very bright”.
“There have been definite signs of positive growth over the past three to four years as the market is on an upswing. We have seen a 20 per cent growth in our export volumes over the last two years. The global market is always of interest and we intend to further increase our exports volumes.  In view of our competitive pricing and quality assurance, we are currently formulating a strong marketing strategy for the UK and US,” adds Kalra.
While the UAE remains its main market, some 35 per cent of Haseeb Rasoul’s production is destined for export to Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, the UK and the US.
