Warema of Germany has launched a new optimised light-controlled Venetian blind to meet the trends in the market.
“Modern buildings are increasingly being fitted with interior sun protection systems for a number of reasons – their height or wind exposed locations, or the wish of the architect to go without installation of exterior sun protection,“ says a company spokesman.
The new Venetian blind, which was developed in response to this trend, boasts a host of advantages. The blinds are claimed to offer an innovative design combined with excellent running smoothness, heat and anti-dazzle protection and well-directed daylight control.
In addition, it is approximately 10 dB(A) quieter than conventional systems, claims the company.
‘‘In order to reduce the operating sound, as much as possible, the design of the system was fundamentally changed. In this way, impact sound transmission from the drive to other components and the structure is largely prevented,’’ explains a spokesman for the company. ‘‘In addition, the complete upper rail was encapsulated by an aluminium compound material, which reduces the sound emission from the motor to a minimum. As the Venetian blind will have a direct impact on the design of a building, the casing was designed in cooperation with a designer and is no longer hidden in a shaft or behind a pelmet.
‘‘With the new clip carriers of the Venetian blind, adapted to the design, the assembly of the blind is child’s play,’’ he says. ‘‘At a maximum size of 3 by 3 m all common axis raster dimensions can be covered. Up to three hangings can be coupled.’’
From the standard flat slats, to various mill-finished surfaces and high-quality mirror slats, a multitude of slat qualities of 50, 60 or 80 mm width can be supplied.
