Final designs for the planned Dubai Aid City are being drawn up.

Dubai Aid City will be dedicated for use by the international aid community and will be located in the southern area of Jebel Ali Free Zone. It spreads across a 300,000 sq m plot on the south of Sheikh Zayed Road. It takes full advantage of the benefits associated with the location and expertise of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation with minimal logistical or bureaucratic delays that could jeopardize such operations.
The fully integrated aid distribution and storage facility will seek to provide total solutions for local and international aid agencies, complete with pre-built warehousing, storage areas and office facilities. The aid bodies will be able to use the specially built extensive warehouse facilities to stockpile emergency supplies and distribute aid cargo via sea, land or air for countries around the world.
The complex includes special requirements such as cool and cold storage facilities for sensitive food and medical supplies and dry cargo facilities.
The proposed complex will also host a museum dedicated to the history of aid relief to cater the growth of public interest in the work of aid relief agencies.
Construction is expected to commence later this year and scheduled to complete in two years time.
