Nakheel to build Lake Towers

Dubai's Nakheel Properties, the developer of The Palm islands, is building a new property just off the plush Sheikh Zayed Road.

Jumeirah Lake Towers comprises 45 towers that will encompass residential, office and retail outlets. The towers will be clustered together in groups of three and set amidst crystal clear lakes and flowing waterways.
Construction has already begun and is planned for completion towards the end of 2005.
"Every tower will be unique, not just in the number of storeys but in concept, design and feel," said Nakheel chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem. "Overall, the project will epitomise modern architecture and provide the best of waterside environments for residents, office workers and leisure seekers alike. We will work closely with each investor in developing their plans to ensure this vision of Jumeirah Lake Towers is realised."
"An impressive 55-storey tower will form the centerpiece of the community and house further offices, a hotel and a gold and diamond centre. Additionally, there will be retail and restaurant outlets and manicured gardens all located within the secure and peaceful environment."
In total, the project located between Interchanges 5 and 6 will cover 730,000 sq m. The manmade lakes will cover 116,000 sq m, the retail space 75,000 sq m and the residential and office space a combined 1.92 million sq m.
The project will be carried out in four phases: the grading and earthworks, the infrastructure and excavation for the lakes, the construction of buildings and car parks, and the landscaping.
The towers is planned to offer a self-contained village environment, with lakeside promenades, restaurants, shopping and apartments with tranquil views over the waterways and lakes.
