Lebanon-based supplier of building materials and tools, Unitech – which has set up its Dubai office in 2000 – is happy with the growth that the company has achieved in that market and is looking forward to grow further.
“The Dubai market is excellent,” says a spokesman for Unitech. “We have been achieving a year-on-year growth of 30 per cent there.”
The company attributes much of its growth to its wide range of products and the relationship it has built with its clients over a short span of five years.
“We aim to build up a relationship that is based on mutual trust and try to be more personal. We strive towards offering a better service and have good workers,” says the spokesman.
Established as a specialised building material supplier with a 10-member team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 1979, the company has shown a steady and stable growth in the 25 years of its existence. Today, Unitech operates through 30 geographically diverse outlets in the Middle East with more than 500 employees, among whom as many as 50 engineers are working in the domain of the sales of building construction materials, says the spokesman.
He continues: “We adopt a highly selective approach when it comes to the products we deal with. We believe that safety cannot be taken for granted, that is why our basket of products comprises some of the best.”
Unitech’s product portfolio includes:
• Products that are designed and manufactured in-house at its facilities in Dubai, Jeddah or Cairo (at Specailied Factory for Steel Products) such as: mechanical cladding fixations (brackets and cramps made of stainless steel); cable management systems (cable trays, ladders, trunkings, and support systems); pipe, clamps and hangers used in the support of pipes and equipment; plasterers’ beads, expanded metals and block ladder reinforcements; steel lintels and blockwork accessories; gypsum profiles for dry wall and ceiling constructions; and garbage and linen chutes.
• Products that are supplied through a professional team of engineers and architects such as: raised access floorings used to provide access for cable routing; expansion joint covers for pedestrian floors, vehicular floors, interior and exterior walls, ceilings and roofs; handrails and corner guards for the protection of walls against traffic; speed bumps and bumper guards for building service areas, commercial loading docks, parking garage walls/columns; entrance mats and rubber tiles; roadway expansion joints; and bridge bearings required at bridge abutments and piers to accommodate existing movements and rotations; and
• Goods and items that are sold through a highly-skilled team of sales executives supported by technicians such as: AEG power tools; anchoring systems; Tyrolit cutting and grinding diamond discs; Irwin industrial hand tools; thermal insulation boards; expansion joints sealants; uPVC electrical conduit; concrete tie rods and accessories; and tile adhesives and grouts.
Among the new products that the company has recently introduced are two new AEG electric tools wall chasers that are expected to redefine performance and efficiency standards in the regional markets.
AEG’s two new high-performance wall chasers – the MF 1900 and the MFE 1500 – are equipped with a whole series of innovative features to ensure finely-tuned flexibility and great results every time. These two new wall chasers offer outstanding cutting performance, especially when used with AEG’s professional dynAC diamond discs, says the spokesman.
“Ideal for the installation of conduits for electric cables and water feed pipes, the powerful MF 1900 wall chaser features: a 1,900-watt motor with high torque and optimised speed for use with diamond cutting discs, variable and adjustable cutting width and depth, a spindle lock as well as an adjustable handle with softgrip,” the spokesman explains. “While an overload protection switch ensures that the tool automatically shuts down in the case of overload, the machine’s dust extraction connection enables a dust-free working environment when used with a dust extraction system.
“The MFE 1,500 electronic wall chaser, with its new, high-performance 1500-watt motor guarantees reduced overload situations and extra-long working hours. Electronics include thermal overload protection, softstart, current rate limitation and constant speed.
