SAUDI ARABIA’S construction and building technology events calendar will see a major shift, with the 36th edition of Saudi Build and the 27th edition of Saudi Elenex postponed to November 1 and 4, 2027, amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Saudi Build is the kingdom’s longest-running construction platform, showcasing building materials, construction technologies, smart building solutions, machinery, and sustainable infrastructure, while Saudi Elenex is a dedicated event for electricity, alternative/renewable energy, lighting and fittings, HVAC-R, electromechanical systems, and smart home/city technologies.

These events were scheduled for this month (November 2 to 5), said the event organisers Riyadh Exhibitions Company.

“This decision was made for the safety, comfort and well-being of our valued stakeholders as our highest priority, and allowing additional time to facilitate international participation, partnerships, and successful trade collaborations,” stated the Riyadh Exhibitions Company team in its press release.

“We remain committed to continuing our 46 years of dependable delivery of quality services to our clients and community. At this moment, our thoughts are with the community in the kingdom and across the region,” it added.

Meanwhile, Messe Frankfurt Saudi Arabia has announced the postponement of its premium expo, Intersec Saudi Arabia, the kingdom’s leading platform for security, safety and fire protection, to October next year.

Intersec .... a key platform for security, safety and fire protection.

The decision follows close monitoring of recent developments in Saudi Arabia and was taken in coordination with the venue, the local government partners, and the event’s local and international stakeholders, said the organisers.

The postponement prioritises the safety and security of exhibitors, visitors, partners, suppliers, and staff, while aiming to preserve the international scale, high-calibre attendance, and market value for which the Intersec Saudi Arabia brand is recognised, it stated.

Riham Sedik, the Show Director for Intersec Saudi Arabia, at Messe Frankfurt Middle East (MFME), said: “This decision is a result of a careful review of the current situation and one that puts the safety and wellbeing of customers, partners, attendees, and teams first. Since 2019, Intersec Saudi Arabia has strengthened its position as a flagship platform connecting the global security, safety, and fire protection ecosystem in the Kingdom.”

“Our commitment will always be to bring the industry together in a safe, accessible, and commercially valuable way, working closely with local authorities and partners. With the event only weeks away, the postponement will allow us to deliver the strongest possible experience for all participants next year,” he noted.

Intersec Saudi Arabia plays an important role in convening the public and private sectors, service providers, and buyers from across some of the world’s fastest-growing markets.

Preparations are now focused on the exhibition’s return to Riyadh in October 2027, it added.

Another event that has been rescheduled is Aluminium Arabia, a premier regional exhibition and networking platform connecting the global and Middle Eastern aluminium value, which was to be held this month (November 11).

The expo has now been postponed to April 2027 and organisers have yet to confirm the dates for the two-day event.

Aluminium Arabia is set to bring together industry leaders, policymakers and global stakeholders to shape the future of the aluminium sector in the region.

A premier platform for the aluminium and metals industry platform, it will also highlight Saudi Arabia’s competitive advantages, including world-class industrial assets such as Ma’aden’s Ras Al Khair complex, to attract foreign direct investment and global industry players.
