Juffali Industrial Products Co (JIPCO) is introducing Dometic’s CoolAir RTX 2000 roof-mounted parking cooler to Saudi Arabia’s commercial vehicle market, targeting long-haul transport, construction, distribution and other fleets whose trucks spend extended periods parked.

JIPCO became a distributor of Dometic in September 2026 and has since begun promoting the CoolAir RTX 2000 through its Customer Service and Parts (CSP) division. The battery-powered system is designed to cool truck cabins during driver rest periods without requiring the main engine to run, potentially reducing fuel consumption associated with engine idling while improving driver comfort.

“It is an opportunity to provide fleet operators with a practical solution that supports driver comfort while helping them manage unnecessary engine idling. The actual operational benefits depend on each fleet’s usage and operating conditions,” says Mohammed Ali Alhelo, Commercial & Operational Excellence Manager at JIPCO’s Customer Service and Parts division.

Unlike conventional vehicle air-conditioning systems that depend on the main engine being operational, the RTX 2000 is designed to provide cabin cooling while the truck is parked and the engine is switched off.

The 24V version delivers 2,000 W of cooling capacity and can operate for up to six hours under suitable conditions. Actual run-time depends on factors including battery capacity, ambient temperature, cabin conditions and operating settings.

The unit is designed to operate at ambient temperatures of up to 52 deg C, making it relevant to the extreme summer conditions encountered in Saudi Arabia.

“Actual cabin cooling depends on the vehicle, ambient temperature, cabin insulation and operating conditions. We assess these factors to help customers determine whether the solution is suitable for their operational requirements,” Alhelo says.

Fleet integration

The RTX 2000 can be retrofitted to compatible trucks using an existing roof hatch where the vehicle configuration permits. Before installation, JIPCO assesses vehicle compatibility, roof configuration, electrical requirements and the installation components needed.

JIPCO can assess the suitability of the product for selected Mercedes-Benz trucks, including Actros and Arocs models, as well as vehicles within its FUSO portfolio. Compatibility must be confirmed for each individual vehicle before installation.

“Compatibility is an important part of our assessment. We need to check the individual vehicle, its roof configuration and electrical system to ensure that the proposed installation is appropriate,” Alhelo explains.

The RTX 2000 is intended to provide a more comfortable cabin environment during rest periods.

Dometic’s CoolAir RTX 2000 parking cooler can be retrofitted to compatible trucks using an existing roof hatch.

“For drivers, the objective is to provide cooling during rest periods without the noise and vibration associated with running the main engine. For fleet operators, reducing unnecessary engine idling can also help lower fuel consumption and engine operating hours,” Alhelo says.

The extent of these benefits will depend on the vehicle, its usage and the prevailing operating conditions.

Saudi operating conditions

Saudi Arabia’s hot, dusty operating environment makes appropriate installation, inspection and maintenance important considerations for vehicle-mounted cooling equipment.

“Regular inspection and maintenance are important in dusty environments, particularly where vehicles operate in areas exposed to sand and dust accumulation. JIPCO supports customers through its technical service capabilities and maintenance support, in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations,” Alhelo says.

JIPCO can help customers assess the potential benefits based on their individual operating requirements.

Asked about installation costs and the expected payback period, Alhelo says: “Pricing depends on the vehicle, installation requirements and fleet size. Our aim is to offer competitive pricing, professional installation and reliable after-sales support tailored to each customer’s needs.

“The payback period depends on several factors, including engine idling hours, fuel consumption, vehicle utilisation and installation costs. We can assess the potential benefits using the customer’s actual operating conditions rather than relying on general savings assumptions.”

Dometic partnership

The distribution partnership with Dometic supports JIPCO’s broader strategy of combining commercial vehicle expertise with practical solutions that address fleet operators’ needs.

“By combining the Dometic RTX 2000 with our commercial vehicle expertise, installation capabilities, spare-parts availability and after-sales support, we aim to offer customers a complete solution rather than simply supplying a product,” Alhelo says.

The initial target market includes Saudi fleet operators in long-haul transport, construction, distribution and other sectors where trucks spend significant periods parked.

JIPCO supports customers through its CSP infrastructure, which includes six workshops, mobile service capabilities and central and regional spare-parts warehouses. Its service network covers key locations including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Abha and Jizan, supporting customers with maintenance, technical assistance and spare-parts availability.

Alongside the product launch, JIPCO is using the RTX 2000 campaign to introduce customers to its wider fleet-support services. As part of the promotional initiative, customers can benefit from a free vehicle health check at participating JIPCO workshops, followed by special discounts, subject to the applicable campaign terms.

The initiative is intended to give fleet operators an opportunity to assess their vehicles while exploring additional maintenance and fleet-support solutions available through JIPCO’s CSP division.
