A US air-conditioning repair and maintenance specialist is to set up a regional base in Bahrain that will serve the Gulf and Middle East.

US Chiller Services International will set up operations in a venture with Coil Tech, a Bahrain-based HVAC specialist. The American firm specialises in the repair, retrofit, installation, and maintenance of large tonnage chillers.

The new venture will be staffed by American service engineers, factory-trained and certified to work on all OEM (original equipment manufactures) centrifugal, screw, absorption, and reciprocating liquid chillers of any model or up to 10,000 tonnes of refrigeration or cooling capacity.

"We have the training and the expertise to handle any situation that a facility may require, whether the equipment is Carrier, Trane, York or McQuay, and we provide our customers with unbiased recommendations and solutions, that benefit the equipment user not the equipment manufacturer," says Danny Mizesko, managing partner and head of operations.

Mizesko has more than 24 years of experience and has worked on Chiller projects throughout the US, Mexico, Latin America, Caribbean countries and the Middle East.

He continues: "US Chiller Services will provide a comprehensive menu of services, ranging from centrifugal chiller compressor disassembly and reassembly to manufacturer's specifications, to chiller conversions and microprocessor equipment modernisation.

"We also offer non-destructive testing (NDT) such as oil or water and refrigerant analysis performed by an independent US laboratory, vibration analysis, infrared - thermography analysis and eddy current tube analysis."

US Chiller will also provide preventive and predictive maintenance as well as comprehensive chiller coverage. "Comprehensive coverage is a programme that allows the equipment owner or end-user to have complete coverage of the chiller for a fixed budgeted yearly price," says Mizesko. "Included in this price is all maintenance service, repair service, emergency service, repair parts, emergency parts and all labour. In essence, US Chiller will be responsible for any and all service and repair requirements of the chiller. The equipment user will never be asked for additional money for service or repairs."
