HAVING secured some lucrative deals following its participation at previous Saudi Build events, Space Structures of Saudi Arabia will be returning to the show for the third consecutive year eager to grab the opportunities on offer and boost its presence in the Central Province of Saudi Arabia.
Participating at previous events has resulted in the company winning orders for shades for several school projects, says a senior company official.
Daniel John, office manager of the Al Khobar-based company, says the event provides an excellent opportunity to promote business in the Riyadh area.
“Saudi Build has always been valuable in furthering our business vision, particularly as it also covers the Central Province,” he says.
Space Structures designs, fabricates, supplies and erects steel spaceframe structures, which are galvanised and powder-coated according to client requirements.

All of Space Structures’ spaceframes are produced under its proprietary ME-SSP spaceframe system. The system spans large areas, is easy to install and is low in cost, while helping achieve a high degree of quality and safety. It utilises the proprietary Multi Flange connection concept, where tubular members are connected directly to one another, without the intermediary of a connector hub or external node.
At Saudi Build this year, the company will be promoting the Flange (6) connector, which “provides better and more efficient connection between the members of the spaceframe”, according to John.
Space Structures was established in 2005 as a joint venture between Yousif Al Mandil Establishment and Saudi Steel Pipe (SSP). With its head office in Al Khobar and production facilities, the firm employs 33 people and registers an annual turnover of $4.5 million.
The company, which has 2,000 sq m of covered factory space in Phase Four of the Second Industrial Area in Dammam, will be boosting it by a further 1,000 sq m in 2012, says John.
Space Structures also intends to open a new sales office in Riyadh this year to promote its presence in the Central Province. Its main market is Jubail, where its products have been certified by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and all factories managed by Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) and its subsidiaries.
John describes 2011 as an “exceptionally good year” for Space Structures in terms of business and hopes to achieve the same results this year as well.
The company’s largest project to date is the King Faisal University in Al Ahsa where it supplied spaceframes covering an area of around 8,000 sq m, under a subcontract from Al Kifah Contracting.
This year, meanwhile, it is supplying 12 shades for a school for the Royal Commission at Jalmouda in Jubail for the contractors Rezayat, Tasami and Sitco.
Space Structures can be visited at Stand 230–1 at Saudi Build.
