MORE than 40 German companies will be at this year’s Saudi Build as part of the German pavilion to showcase the country’s engineering excellence and reputation for high-quality products.
These exhibitors will be displaying a wide spectrum of materials and machines, technology and services offered to the construction sector including building engineering, equipment, materials and machines to produce building and construction products and components, construction tools and technology, heavy construction equipment, maintenance services, interior decor and repair, stone treatment and handling systems.
The pavilion is being set up by the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (Auma), which organises all official German trade fair programmes abroad in close cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the Ministry of Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture.
“Messe Stuttgart International, BMWi, Auma, the Association of Steel and Metal Processing Industry (WSM) and the German Near and Middle East Business Association (Numov) welcome all exhibitors and visitors to the official German presentation at Saudi Build 2012,” says a spokesman for the pavilion.
Germany, he says, sees Saudi Arabia as one of the most important markets in the Middle East, for conducting business in general and for opportunities in the building sector in particular.
“Thanks to the increased oil revenues in the recent past, extensive construction projects have been initiated and will go on for the next decade. Saudi Arabia’s population is expected to double over the next 20 years. At the same time, the standard of living is increasing. Thus, there is a huge need for all kinds of construction products and equipment in the country.”
According to the spokesman, Saudi Build 2012 provides German exhibitors the opportunity to reach buyers and decision-makers and to establish a presence in a growing market.
“This event offers access to the entire Saudi market in one exhibition,” he says.
Among the exhibitors is Assyx, which offers Assyx Duroboards, a high-quality production board that is used in the production of concrete products. The company has recently supplied its boards to a client in Hail in northern Saudi Arabia.
According to a spokesman for Assyx, the initial contacts for this order were made at Saudi Build in October 2009. “Our new customer was immediately convinced of the quality provided by Assyx Duroboards and awarded a small contract for 400 boards in August,” explains Alfred Rochlus, general manager, who is responsible for international sales. A follow-up order for 4,000 additional production boards is scheduled for next year.
Also participating at Saudi Build are the Paschal Group, a specialist in concrete formwork, support systems and formwork planning software, which will be introducing a cloud-capable version of its formwork software PPL (see page 159); Hess Group, an international concrete products machine manufacturer; Saudi Liebherr Company, which offers a host of construction machines ranging from concrete batching plant and cranes to mining and foundation equipment; and Lintec, a manufacturer of both asphalt and concrete mixing plants (see page 175).
Other exhibitors include Peri which will be promoting its diverse range of formwork and scaffolding solutions including Peri Up Rosett Flex scaffolding, ACS/RCS climbing systems and Skydeck slab formwork; Sommer, which will put the spotlight on its production plants for the precast concrete element industry; and Weiler, which will promote its turnkey precast concrete plants for modern building systems.
The German pavilion can be visited in Halls Two and Three and the outdoor area at Saudi Build.
