BT Business Solutions (BT-BS) is keenly eyeing a third of the Saudi market share in its field of specialisation, confident that its expertise in the kingdom’s construction and engineering sectors will help it achieve its target.

Now in its eighth year of operations, the Jeddah-based IT specialist offers complete solutions to run key operational processes at construction companies, from initial project identification through contract close-out.

To help meet the challenges of companies operating in the construction industry, BT-BS offers solutions using Oracle EBS and Microsoft, both of which provide powerful technologies and comprehensive business applications that enable the integration and implementation of key applications such as Primavera, Timberline, Prolog and Maximo.

The company, with proven experience, has successfully implemented Oracle solutions for construction companies in the kingdom to meet their statutory requirements.

“BT-BS’ expertise in Oracle technologies and the construction business delivers a powerful combination of technology and comprehensive, pre-integrated business applications, including key functionality built specifically for contractors,” says Mahmoud Al Amir, the company’s business operations director.

Oracle’s unified data model allows integration of information across departments to enable project collaboration, control project execution, improve consistency in forecasts, and streamline payment collection.

BT-BS is currently working on projects for a number of companies in Saudi Arabia. It is set to start work on delivering a solution to Saudi Binladin Group’s (SBG) Rush Projects Division this month and is expected to finish it by December. It already has an order under way for SBG’s Public Buildings and Airports division, which is also due for completion by the year-end.

These orders follow the successful completion last year of an assignment for SBG’s Public Buildings and Airports division, which entailed implementing Oracle EBS R12 for its financial, supply chain, and projects tracks.

“BT-BS encountered a number of challenges on the project, which the company successfully tackled,” Al Amir says.
Other clients it is currently serving include Al Fouzan Trading and Construction Company, and Al Ajmi Construction.

Over the past year, the company has seen a number of developments within its organisation. It has recently opened a new branch in Riyadh and has upgraded its partnership level with Oracle to platinum. It is also expanding its scope of services by signing new partnerships with various software houses that offer supplementary solutions to the construction market such as Primavera Project Management Solutions, Autodesk and Content Management Solutions.

All these developments, coupled with an upbeat construction market, spells further success for the company.

“Business this year is relatively booming compared to last year due to the surge in investment in the construction sector,” comments Al Amir. “According to our expertise in Saudi’s construction and engineering sectors, and our market research on growth projections and exposure of this industry, we forecast a 35 per cent market share for the upcoming year.”

BT-BS was established in 2003 and today employs 70 people. It is headquartered in Jeddah with branches spread across the Middle East including in the UAE, Egypt and Jordan.
