ADEX Contracting, Maintenance and Operation is on a major recruitment drive to further its ambitions in the construction and real estate development market and serve the requirements of a buoyant Saudi market.

“We are currently looking at increasing our staff strength by 50 per cent to enable us to move ahead with a number of projects that we have on the drawing boards,” says Viqar Hasan, CEO of the leading general contracting and maintenance company.

The 100 per cent Saudi-owned firm has been active in all aspects of the contracting business in the kingdom since its establishment in Riyadh in 2005.

Rated among the top contractors, Adex has more than 100 projects to its credit including commercial, industrial, educational, religious and housing complexes, hospitals, palaces, villas, commercial towers and other civil projects.

The contracting company also carries out mechanical and electrical (M&E) and sub-contracting work, repair and refurbishment fit-outs, and interior decor and furnishing, according to Hasan.

Its current order book includes a total of 256 villas at the prestigious Durrat Al Riyadh residential project, which are due for completion by the year-end; a series of private hospitals in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam; two commercial buildings; and an 89-villa complex in Riyadh.

In addition, the company is developing its own projects such as the 21-storey Adex Tower, which is a commercial building that is fast nearing completion in Jeddah, an Adex hotel in Riyadh, where work is under way on the fit-outs following completion of the structure and another Adex hotel in Tabuk, work on which has just commenced.

This apart, the firm is now looking at broadening its horizons and intends to develop a beach resort in Morocco (design stage).

Adex aims to become the premier provider of construction, maintenance and operation services in the region and, since its inception, has kept pace with Saudi Arabia’s remarkable growth in the construction sector.

“The key to our success is our commitment to quality, our continuous investment and training in the newest technology and our focus on cultural values and craftsmanship. In addition, we are specialised in fast-track projects,” Hasan says.

“By benchmarking our operations with internationally-accepted standards of quality, we have managed not only to expand and diversify our business, but also to maintain an exceptionally high level of quality throughout our esteemed projects.”

“Full transparency, a superior quality and an unlimited construction range have given the company a cutting edge. Our diversified services and strong management capabilities have enabled us to deliver year-on-year growth and sustained profitability. Adex is now both well-capitalised and well-positioned to seize the opportunities in the market as we consolidate our business beyond the metro cities of Saudi Arabia,” he adds.

Hasan ... committed to quality.

Hasan says that Adex has been commended by its clients for its attention to detail and its ability to provide knowledge-driven and cost-saving solutions for the most complex construction projects.

“Today, we are recognised as a regional leader in our industry for our strength in traditional construction methods and for our creative, fresh approach to cutting-edge technologies and delivery systems. Our work reflects our commitment and guarantees the comfort, reliability and the efficiency of projects, right from small to the high-profile developments.

He continues: “We add value through our experience in all aspects of the development process and apply our expertise to a broad spectrum of construction-related services and delivery systems, including pre-construction, construction management, general contracting, design-build and alliance partnerships.

“Adex is committed to providing the highest quality of services and ensuring the satisfaction of its clientele through a highly-qualified and dedicated team of technical and administrative staff, backed by its extensive resources of proficient manpower and modern equipment. We dedicate ourselves to continual improvement in all fields of our business.”
The company strives to ensure customer satisfaction and forge long-lasting partnerships with its clients by delivering quality projects within schedule.

“In addition, we aim to adopt the latest technologies in the field of engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of infrastructure projects and focus on encouraging innovation, professional integrity, upgradation of knowledge and skills of employees and a safe working environment,” says Hasan.

Adex is strongly committed to safety health and environment. “The effective management of health and safety and the protection of the environment are integral to our business success. Everyone at Adex is accountable for health, safety and environment (HSE) and we work hard to foster a culture where these three factors are taken into account wherever we operate.

Our safety programme is proactive and everyone from management to trades people is involved in making a zero-incident workplace a reality. We use daily pre-task planning sessions, ongoing safety inspections, weekly safety meetings, safety seminars, special equipment training, safety manual reviews and email updates to assist in attaining our goal of zero incidents,” he says.

The company constantly endeavours to minimise pollution by installing necessary controls and through effective employee training programmes. It encourages, promotes, facilitates and trains all employees for observing safe work practices and continuously monitor their effective implementation.

Hasan says that the ultimate goal is to be recognised as a professional company capable of delivering large volumes of business within the specified time, quality and cost frame. “Our aim is to earn global recognition by providing high-quality products and services in time and in conformity with the best engineering practices as well as good corporate governance and customer satisfaction,” he concludes.
