JOTUN Paints has won a significant contract to deliver its top-range floor coating solution to the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha, Qatar.

The project involves the coating the centre’s 140,000-sq-m car-parking floor area using the Jotafloor traffic deck system, a high-performance system designed to protect concrete floors exposed to vehicular traffic. Combining the glass-flake-reinforced epoxy and polyurethane technology, the system can be tailor-made to suit floors in car-parks, walkways, ramps and external traffic decks. For QNCC, Jotun Qatar will deliver 90,000 litres of Jotafloor traffic deck system; 100,000 kg of Jotafloor non-slip aggregate; and 14,000 litres of Jota Armour, a high-build epoxy flooring system with excellent abrasion resistance and anti-slip properties, which will be used for the bus and taxi ramps. Jotafloor coating will be applied to the floors of the technical rooms.
Jotun Qatar will also supply the intumescent coating Steelmaster and the anti-carbonation coating Jotashield Tex Ultra. In addition, Jotun Paints will deploy trained and experienced specialists to manage the application of Jotafloor paints within the QNCC grounds.
