Sayyar offers an extensive range including seating furniture solutions.

Sayyar Trading, which has captured a niche in its target upmarket sector, continues to expand its list of impressive projects by offering quality products and innovative services to some of the high-profile developments under way in the country.

The Bahrain-based company has added another feather to its cap with the Durrat Al Bahrain resort project, where it has been appointed to exclusively supply sanitary ware and fittings from Villeroy and Boch (V&B) under a deal worth BD2.9 million ($7.69 million). It is also supplying a range of other products to this prestigious mixed-use development, including accessories from Roman Dietsche of Germany, bathtubs from Glass of Italy, mixers from Hansa and Shulte of Germany and kitchen sinks from Reginox of the Netherlands.
“We are supplying all the villas that are under construction on the project, including houses under construction on Petals One to Three and Atolls One to Four,” says Wael Sayyar, managing director.
The company started supplying the project in June last year and expects to complete the order shortly. The $6 billion development includes five petal-shaped and six atoll-shaped islands as well as one crescent-shaped island and is located to the south of Bahrain.
Other prominent projects that it is currently involved in are the King Hamad Hospital, where it is supplying stainless steel accessories from Bradley of the US, and a large mosque in Isa Town to which it is providing special engraved vitrified tiles from Topser of Portugal as well as wall and floor stone cladding.
Over the recent past, Sayyar Trading has been offering a greater diversity of services to the country. It is now set to break new ground by becoming the first company to introduce the green building concept in Bahrain at the Amwaj Gateway, a mixed-use development on Amwaj Islands in Muharraq, consisting of beachfront townhouses and residential towers.
“We are providing these services through our principal Energy Management Services (EMS) of Dubai, UAE, which offers value-engineered solutions to optimise energy consumption in buildings,” Sayyar says.
The company has also clinched the deal to supply stainless steel road gullies from ACO for the new Sitra bridges, construction of which has commenced recently. Sayyar, meanwhile, continues to target runways, street and industrial facilities, for the German company’s drainage solutions and grease and oil separators.
Sayyar Trading is now in negotiations for a number of other mega developments, having already recently added several projects to its portfolio, including the Bahrain World Trade Centre (BWTC), the Diplomat Radisson SAS furnished apartments, the Royal Women’s University, Al Ezz tower, the Supreme Council for Women headquarters, and the Sabika Ibrahim Mosque in Isa Town, which involved the supply of 6,000 sq m of Travertino Beige marble cladding cut and polished at its own factory.
Established in Bahrain in 1978, Sayyar Trading has grown into a major importing and manufacturing enterprise in the region, operating from offices in Bahrain as well as Qatar. The company already has a large showroom on Exhibition Avenue and two large warehouses in Barbar and Sitra.
Sayyar Trading also deals with Norway’s Timelox (hotel door locking systems), France’s Roland Vlaemynck (garden and swimming pool furniture), theatre, auditorium and sports seating from Irwin from Europe and US; sports seating from Imsa and Metalliform; water coolers from Elkay, paving and street furniture from Marshalls, UK; and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes, from Amiantit Oman, which have been approved by Bahrain’s Ministry of Works.
The company also offers pipeline inspection and rehabilitation services using closed circuit television (CCTV) systems.
Sayyar Trading, which started operations in Qatar in 1998, is currently setting up a new warehouse in Doha.
“Our customers both in the private and the public sectors vouch for the quality of our products and the reliability of our company, which has been the key to our success both in Bahrain and in Qatar. In response to the demands of our niche sector, we will continue to diversify our product range to fill the gaps in the market,” concludes Sayyar.
