Dubai Central Laboratory Department (DCL) has granted Dirk India Private Limited the licence to use the DCL conformity mark for its Pozzocrete cement replacement products.
The DCL, represented by Ali Ahmed Elian, and Dirk India, represented by Georg Dirk, recently signed the licensing agreement.
DCL granted this license following assessment of Dirk India’s Pozzocrete factory at Nashik, in Maharashtra by its team. The licence also comes after monitoring and verification by the team that the products and the production process meet the specific rules DCL-IC-02-21 for pulverised fly ash as per BS 3892 Part 1:1997.
“This is the first time DCL has granted a licence to a fly ash product. For the construction industry in the Gulf this means that they now have a choice to select a fly ash product which constantly meets the specifications,” said a spokesman for Dirk. “This is most important especially for fly ash as the raw ash is the waste of coal fired power stations and in this stage not a product,” he said.
The verification team of DCL congratulated Dirk and hoped that by enabling the construction industry to select a verified product they will be able to maintain and even improve their own quality parameters, he added.
Dirk said the seal will protect the genuine producers of Indian fly ash products and create a distinction between the verified and non-verified products which are very often simple “run-off-station ash” without having undergone any selection or processing.
Al Amin Industries of Bahrain and Winnisha International of the UAE are the exclusive agents for DIRK in the Gulf.
They said major developers and construction companies in the region have shown interest in the product.
