Construction projects in the Gulf are making a definite shift towards u-PVC (unplasticised polyvinylchloride) windows and doors because of the advantages they offer as well as the soaring aluminium prices, says a leading UAE fabricator.

u-PVC window and door systems are three times as thermal efficient as an aluminium window, with the added advantage of saving energy up to 34 per cent more than aluminium windows, says Manoj Khanna, director, Kemsol Middle East.
“They are wind, alkaline and fire-resistant, anti-saline, sound-proof, air-tight and water-tight. No rain water can permeate indoors, due to their specific design,” he adds.
Most of the major real estate developments in Dubai, including Emirates Hills, Silicon Oasis and Arabian Ranches have installed u-PVC windows and doors to good effect, says Khanna.
