Starck X ... stylish designs.

Al Siddiq Trade Services – a Saudi Arabia-based supplier and stockiest for some of the big names in sanitary ware and fixtures – is planning to make a splash at the SaudiBuild 2005 to be held later in the year, by putting on display the latest in bathroom accessories including a few from Duravit’s Starck X range.

Created by renowned designer Phillippe Starck, the sculptural character of the Starck X bathroom range elevates them to the status of exclusive works of art – unrivalled and matchless.
The range consists of cube-shaped toilets and bidets, 40 cm high, defining the basic form. However, the range has quite a few innovative details that have been selectively used. For instance, a recessed flat tap fitting is visible on the bidet with cover. The 89 cm-high washbasins in cylindrical or conical forms feature a ceramic pedestal that do not interrupt the understated lines of the overall concept. Rectangular washbasins, 57 cm wide, rest on metal consoles, which in a wider version measuring 110 cm, features an additional shallow shelf recess in white, yellow or platinum.
Although, on the exterior, the three vanity units measuring 57 cm, 70 cm and 110 cm, the full-height cabinet and mirror are understated yet elegant, they hide away a few surprises on the inside. Visible, U-shaped chrome consoles support the 57 cm and 70 cm washbasins and act as runners for the handle-free drawers of the elegant vanity units. The interior arrangement celebrates four colours: yellow and white in a dull matt next to black and platinum in a high-gloss finish set the scene. Depending on the size of unit, a compartment for odds and ends, a central division or two separate divisions add a splash of colour and make sure everything is neat and tidy.
Apart from Hansgrohe, the company boasts of an impressive list of principals that includes: Keuco (Germany), Delta Faucet Company (US), Bossini and Carlo Nobili (both from Italy), Geberit (Switzerland) and Delabie (France).
“Over the years the company has grown in stature owing to the influx of innovative ideas along with determination and a penchant for creativity of its managing director Hesham Al Siddiq, who believes the bathroom is a place to recuperate and relax in the most comfortable of ambiences,” says a company spokesman.
“The importance of bathrooms as a functional element of the house is increasing and is very apparent with reputed designers being associated with bathroom design. Not surprisingly bathrooms of the future will have a full set of entertainment such as the multimedia and plasma TV enabling users to watch favourite soaps while relaxing,” Al Siddiq says.
“Our mission is to improve the level of gracious living in the lives of all who are touched by our products and services. Offering quality service has always been the focal point of our business with an emphasis on introducing new and innovative designer product in the market that bring true added value to the user. The latest addition being the Starck X series  from Hansgrohe, which has been well received in the market, says the  spokesman.
Al Siddiq’s retail division, which is supported by its premium luxury bathroom showrooms located in Dammam, Al Khobar and Riyadh, are planning major renovations for its showrooms based on design concepts from Hansgrohe (Axor and Pharo).
“Once the showrooms are ready we can boast of having something unique in the Eastern Province. A showroom that is on par with exclusive showrooms in the Europe and the US, says Al Siddiq.
To capitalise on the growing Saudi market and further tap its potential, Nabeel Al Siddiq has established a separate project division headed by experienced professionals who will cater to an expansive market stretching throughout the kingdom and offer excellent levels of service.
Al Siddiq has already provided products and services to some of the leading companies and projects, and also worked alongside some of the leading consultants in the kingdom.
Customer satisfaction coupled with a long-standing association with some of the major consultants and contractors of the Eastern Province has made the company a favourite. This has enabled the company to win exclusive projects such as the renovation of the Sheraton Hotels and Towers (Dammam), Le Merdien (Al Khobar), Sunset Beach, the Radisson SAS, Saad Specialist Hospital, and schools among others, Al Siddiq says.
