Mechanical and electrical engineering contractor, Drake & Scull International has opened its first branch in Kuwait, as part of its expansion programme in the region.

“We are happy to establish the first Drake & Scull International branch in Kuwait,” says the company’s executive director in Kuwait, Akrima Afani. The opening of the office in Kuwait is in line with the company’s vision and plans to expand in the region. Our regional growth strategy matches our growing successes worldwide in the mechanical and electrical engineering contracting sector, and is timed to coincide with the boom in the construction sector in Kuwait.”
Drake & Scull has also appointed Offset General Trading and Contracting Company as its partner in Kuwait. The Kuwaiti branch of Drake & Scull International’s eighth in the region. It also has offices in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt and Jordan.
In its 40 years of experience in the Gulf region, Drake & Scull International has been actively involved in some of the biggest international and regional projects. “With the opening of our first office in Kuwait, we are looking forward to offering our experience and expertise to major projects in this important market. Drake & Scull International has already won a significant contract in Kuwait, and we will shortly announce details of this project. We are confident of achieving substantial success and establishing ourselves as a quality leader in this market,” he says.
Some of the major projects bagged by the company in the region include: the design and construction of a 60,000-tonne district cooling scheme at Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai; the design and construction of a 50,000-tonne district cooling plant at Dubai Festival City; and providing mechanical and electrical engineering services to Dubai Internet City and the horse-race tracks in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, the grand mosque built by Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman, Smart Village in Egypt, the Intercontinental Hotel in Riyadh, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha.
