A $2 billion causeway, and natural gas and electricity deals between Bahrain and Qatar have been put on the fast track following a meeting between Bahrain's Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Qatari Crown Prince Shaikh Tameem bin Hamad Al Thani.

Causeway studies are to be swiftly finalised and an agreement to supply Bahrain with natural gas supplies set up for signing.
A major electricity link is also likely to go ahead as well as a feasibility study on job opportunities for Bahrainis in Qatar.
In a joint statement, both sides strongly stressed the need to work together and boost cooperation.
A whole raft of joint ventures is now planned including power, industry, water, social affairs, commerce, sport, media, women and family affairs and civil aviation.
