As part of a rebranding campaign, Hurd Millwork Company, a leading US-based maker of windows and doors, recently launched its redesigned website at www.hurd.com.
Says Dave Whelchel, director of sales and marketing: "The new web site captures the essence of Hurd's philosophy - Let's build together - by providing useful tools that help make the window selection process easier.
"The site has been designed to be easy to use, and also addresses the specific needs of our different audiences, whether they are window distributors, custom-home builders or home owners," he says. "The new website is another example that we're not just a company that makes great windows - we're also a great company to do business with."
Images of the rural Midwest and the tools of craftsmanship serve as the backdrop for the website, an extension of the previously debuted advertising campaign and product literature. The copy has been written in a down-to-earth style, making it simple for users unfamiliar with window construction to navigate.
The navigation bar features five tools specific to customers' needs, including: Windows; Doors; Our Story (history of Hurd and the production process); Get Inspired (photo gallery of custom-built homes with Hurd Windows); Trade Tools (computer-based tools to expedite the bid and specification process for the user).
Says Whelchel: "www.hurd.com will be continuously updated with the latest new product information and press releases from the company." The website also features a distributor locator that allows users to identify a Hurd distributor by entering their zip code, or by doing a city or country search."
Other useful tools available on the website include a 'Terms & FAQs' guide for new users and 'Owner's Info' link for current Hurd customers. Browsers can also request additional product information or be put in touch with a customer service representative.
Hurd products are sold exclusively through more than 400 distributors worldwide.
