AMF offers tested solutions for ceiling systems in clean rooms.

Clean rooms are a necessity in several of the industries that require a defined area in which work can be done under hygienic conditions.

Such conditions are needed today in: the food, pharmaceutical, research, electronic and semiconductor industry and also in health-care, as the pollution of the production environment by dust and in particular microorganisms would reduce or even entirely jeopardise the quality of these products.

AMF offers tested solutions for ceiling systems in clean rooms. These ceiling elements meet highest requirements in terms of hygiene, sealing and particle emission in order to avoid contamination, says the German manufacturer.

The surfaces of AMF-Thermatex Schlicht, Thermaclean S, and AMF-Kombimetall (with acrylic seal) as well as Thermaclean S (without acrylic seal) are certified by the Fraunhofer Institute of Production Technology and Automation for their clean room suitability. The ceiling tiles were installed as per AMF Systems C and F respectively according to special installation guidelines. The classifications achieved thereby were ISO-classes 4 to 6 and US-Fed. Standard 10 to 1,000, says AMF.

In addition to their particle emission behaviour, the ceilings were also tested for the chemical stability (cleanability) of their surfaces relating to cleaning, process and disinfection reagents similar to DIN 53168 Procedure A. Among the substances tested were ethanol, isopropanol, hydrogen peroxide, Elma Clean and others.

The wide spectrum of ceiling systems in AMF's offer for clean room applications (such as racks for pharmaceuticals, microchip production, space technology and operating theatres) are safe and proven solutions, he adds.
