The Riyadh-based Saudi Vetonit Company Limited (Saveto) plans to launch a couple of products for the Saudi market as well as promote existing ones with a greater vigour at SaudiBuild 2003.
The products to be launched include Saveto self-levelling grout and a Saveto non-shrink grout.
The company also plans to introduce a number of dry-mix products for flooring, plastering and finishing in the next few months.
Saveto is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of cement and gypsum-based building finishing materials in the Middle East.
The company has been manufacturing quality products at the company's fully automated factories in Riyadh, under technical collaboration with a leading European dry mix company. Saveto has branches all over Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries.
''Saveto has committed itself to the production of high quality products that will yield better results,'' comments sales and marketing manager Jarmo Manninen. ''The company has witnessed a steady growth in the past couple of decades and its distribution network has been expanded, both within and outside the Saudi market, to accommodate the growth.''
Saveto has an existing fully automated production capacity of 140,000 tonnes a year. The company's range of high quality, mainly cement-based Vetonit building finishing materials, includes about 40 different products, many of which are offered in various colours.
Saveto's product range includes a variety of interior and exterior coatings, thin plasters and coloured texture coats, renders, tile adhesives and joint grouts as well as special products such as acoustic plaster, self-level flooring compounds, crack filler, bonding agents and joint tapes, says Manninen.
Saveto's products are commonly used in commercial construction projects in the kingdom as well as in housing projects.
Elaborating on some of the products of the company, Manninen says: 'Vetonit finish WR putty is a high-quality cement-based, water-resistant putty that is used for plastered walls, ceiling surfaces of concrete and renders. The putty is also used as an undercoat for paints intended for both interiors and exteriors as the case may be.
''The putty provides a smooth surface finish, free from undulations, for the application of alkali-resistant paints and subsequent coats. It offers many advantages compared to conventional putties.'
He continues: 'Masonry mortar is a high quality mortar that can be used for all kinds of masonry work with concrete blocks, sand lime bricks or red clay bricks.
''Vetonit premix plaster is a high quality premixed, water-resistant and cement-based plaster intended to be used internally and externally for block walls, ceilings, concrete surfaces and general filling up.
''The plaster can be applied by plastering machines or by hand, and serves as a plaster undercoat to interior or exterior fillers for finishing and also as a substrate for application of paints. Ceramic tiling can also be applied directly on the plaster, which can be an ideal replacement for conventional sand-and-cement plasters.'
Manninen says that the continuous development work by the company has paid rich dividends.
''As a result of such work in the recent past, products such as cement perlite plaster, gypsum perlite plaster and masonry mortar that were introduced in the market some time ago have met with a good level of acceptance,'' he says.
''Premix plaster has also replaced more and more of the traditional site-mixed sand and cement plaster. Also the range of colours in which Premix texture has been made available has earned it a reputation of being a good and profitable texture,'' he adds.
'All our products are designed to meet the climatic conditions of the Middle East and our products are used in commercial construction projects in the kingdom as well as in housing constructions. In addition, as an important part of our service, our field personnel are ready to make samples at your site and our certified applicators will carry on the application work for you,' Manninen says.
According to Manninen, the company, which is a market leader for dry mixed building and finishing materials, looks forward to achieving a sustainable growth, through a systematic process of product development and market expansion, and to back the effort by a series of sound investments.
The company is also looking forward to introduce more dry-mix products in the segments of flooring, new plastering and finishing products such as self levelling grouts, screeds and putties and build on its existing range of cost-effective plasters.
The company will be at Stand 941.
