Kalzip roofs... the Sports Pavilion at Jumeirah Beach Resort

Corus Building Systems  will be showing off its worldwide successful aluminium standing seam roofing and wall-cladding system Kalzip at next month's SaudiBuild 2003.

''From October 19 to 23 the exhibition site of the city of Riyadh will be the display window of the building industry and a meeting point of architects, the building trade and investors interested in innovative building systems and modern architecture,''  says Azad Nouri, from the Dubai office of Corus Building Systems.

He continues: ''In hall 1 (booth 925) Corus Building Systems will present Kalzip. Invented more than three decades ago, it has proved its outstanding characteristics. Especially, its resistance to atmospheric conditions and its malleability were the most promising prospects which finally even surpassed the early expectations.

''The new product - standing seam profiled sheets, being joined on-site by mechanical seaming and cleverly fixed by means of special flanged-in clips, so that the roof is not penetrated by any fixing elements -  paved the way for the tremendous success of this innovating product Kalzip.

''Today Kalzip standing seam profiled sheets are frequently specified by top international architects for their most prestigious projects such as airports, hotels, administration buildings, exhibition halls and have been setting standards in modern architecture by most outstanding architectural achievements.

''The list of architects using Kalzip looks like a 'Who's Who' of modern architecture featuring highly esteemed designers from Sir Norman Foster to Calatrava Valls, from Mario Botta to Grimshaw and Partners and from Richard Rogers Partnership to Hok + Cobb Sports Architecture, who recently designed and built outstanding buildings with Kalzip, roofing.''

Kalzip has also made its way to the Arabian world. One of the highlights is the 38-m-high Millennium Grandstand at Nad Al Sheba on the Dubai horse racing track featuring 8,000 sq m of shiny Kalzip skin produced and curved on site by means of mobile roll-formers.
Further impressive buildings are the Sports Pavilion and Conference Centre at Jumeirah Beach Resort, the Deira City Centre and the Mina Seyahi building in Dubai.

Corus Building Systems develops and produces aluminium roofing and facade cladding systems. Its activities concentrate on the production, sale and marketing of Kalzip,, a standing seam system manufactured as an industrial product. The programme is completed by trapezoidal and corrugated Kalbau, profiled sheets. FalZinc, an easily foldable sheet aluminium with a zinc-surface pre-exposed to weathering, completes the programme.
