SaudiBuild 2003

Forging ahead

THe Saudi-based Moeid Steel and Aluminium Company (MSAC), an affiliated company of Moeid Al Zamil Group, plans to expand its business through the setting up of a steel-forging unit, Al Zamil Iron Metals at Bahrain.

The new venture is expected to consolidate the strength of the company that has already built up a strong base in the business of aluminium and steel roofing over the years.
According to a company spokesman, MSAC continues to introduce new and reliable international products in the Middle East market. At SaudiBuild 2003, the company plans to feature several products that will add a new dimension to the construction industry of the region.

One of the products that will be featured  is MetroShake-II manufactured by the New Zealand's Metrotile. The product has been described as a revolutionary steel roofing system  as it eliminates the use of costly wood battens and allows faster installation times. The panels of MetroShake-II are forged with deep wood grain impressions to create an exceptionally strong, secure steel roof covering and can be used for any architectural style, the spokesman says.

According to the spokesperson, MetroShake-II is capable of withstanding winds of up to 120 mph and is resistant to the damages arising from hail impact and fire. The tiles come with an attractive stone coating and are embedded in an ultraviolet (UV)-resistant acrylic polymer to have a lasting bond with Zincalume steel. The products from Metrotile are manufactured using high quality materials and are secure, maintenance free, and attractive.

The normal roofing systems of Metrotile have already been featured at the previous SaudiBuild and are composed of a core of top-quality of Zincalume-coated steel that is given a thick coat of acrylic topped by a coating of acrylic gaze. The tiles are designed to interlock and overlap, thereby preventing wind lifting and shutting out climatic extremes. The roofing system can be assembled over existing roofing and helps in the remodelling of houses in a matter of days.

The other products that will be featured on the show will include EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) flashings and seals for pipes, cables and air-conditioning ducts from Dektite, Australia. Motors and accessories for automatic gates and doors along with a 12-volt DC/solar power source from DeltaMatte, Italy will also be featured in the MSAC's stall.

The stand will also feature a wide range of fittings and accessories for steel, stainless steel and aluminium from Fratelli, Italy. A full range of aluminium machinery and equipment from Green, Italy and used steel machinery and equipment from TPC Italy will also be showcased.
