Saudi Arabia is home to some of the world's finest royal palaces and luxury hotels, and Alarabi Decoration takes pride in the fact that several of them tasked the Jeddah-based specialist to design and create their exquisite interiors.
"Several of Jeddah's finest hotels, including the new Jeddah Hilton, the Westin, the Sofitel and the Leylaty Ballrom, have a common link," says business consultant Saleh M Saleh. "Their interiors have been worked on by Alarabi."
He continues: "We are currently busy with around 30 projects in Saudi Arabia, among which are two royal palaces, three floors of the famous Kingdom Centre, and the Prince Sultan Humanitarian City in Riyadh."
Alarabi recently completed a major interior contract at the South Asian Pilgrim Guide Establishment in Makkah. The fast-track project was awarded to Alarabi on a turnkey basis for all the interior decoration and finishing work and was actually completed ahead of schedule, according to Saleh, who was closely involved with its execution from start to finish.
"The building was the brainchild of the famous architect Refaat El Ayache, who designed the concept and personally supervised the execution of all the work," continues Saleh. "It was a difficult project for us due to the extremely tight schedule and, because of its location, our European managers could not be present on site. However, the project was perfectly executed under the capable hands of Refaat, who received a special word of appreciation from the client during the inaugural ceremony."
"This is another star project for Alarabi and we are proud to add to it to our already impressive list of satisfied clients," he says.
Though Alarabi is currently quite busy, the interior decorator is constantly on the look-out for new, important projects. "With over 1,000 artisans and decoration specialists, we cannot afford to lie back," says Saleh. "We have to keep alert and active on any opportunity that might arise."
Elsewhere in the Gulf, Alarabi is involved in two major projects, one in Kuwait and the other in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
In Europe, Alarabi and its European partner GMC are working on three hotels - one in Rome, Italy, and two in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
Some of Alarabi's landmark projects include the passenger and Royal terminals at Dhahran International Airport, the Casino du Liban in Beirut, Lebanon, the Sheraton Hotel (Deluxe Collection) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and the new extension to the Meridien Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. It has also worked on several royal palaces in Spain and Saudi Arabia, as well as private villas and shopping malls all over the Kingdom.
