Dubai-based pioneering architectural aluminium products manufacturer Arabian Aluminium Company (AALCO) designed, manufactured, supplied and installed doors and windows for the 160 residential villa project.

The contract worth more than Dh3 million ($817,500) was awarded in August last year and was completed in July this year.

The project was divided into eight phases comprising 20 villas each. A clubhouse was also included. Each phase was handed over separately to the main contractor.

Describing the company's scope of work on the development, a company spokesman says it supplied 4,800 sq m of double glazing to the project.

The outer pane was bronze tinted and 6 mm thick, while the inner glass was plain and 6 mm thick, with a white Georgian bar between the two panes, he explains.

Arabian Aluminium Company, a member of Abdulla Al Ghurair Group of Companies, was established in 1967, as one of the first companies within the now-diversified Al Ghurair Group.

It has the distinction of having been the first company to start manufacture and installation of quality aluminium architectural products in the region, says the spokesman.

The company has more than 35 years of experience spanning diverse and prestigious construction projects in the UAE, in co-ordination with most of the prominent architects and engineering consultants and a large number of construction companies in the region.

This experience has enabled the company to supply and install a variety of innovative architectural aluminium products to suit the needs and tastes of diverse customers. The many projects completed by the company since its inception stand testimony to AALCO's ability and for the quality of its products.

The company's main activity is architectural curtain-walling systems (fully unitised, semi-unitised and stick wall) and structural glazing of commercial and residential buildings, employing technological solutions that predominantly use glass and metal.

Besides curtain-walling, Arabian Aluminium also undertakes fabrication and installation of practically all types of aluminium doors and windows, staircases, louvres, shop-fronts, skylights, stainless steel works, composite panel cladding, automatic sliding/swing doors, rolling shutters, partitions, handrails and other glazing works to provide clients with a single source for their external package in the construction of modern buildings.
