AL BILAD Real Estate has appointed Malaysia’s RB International to design the bridges in the Water Garden City project in Bahrain’s Seef District.

RB International won the deal in an international tender, based on its extensive experience and technical competency in bridge design, according to an official of Al Bilad Real Estate, the main developer.
“The appointment of RB International followed a comprehensive study conducted by the technical team working on the project,” said Ziyad Abdullatif Janahi, general manager.
“A number of companies participated in this bid and we selected the company that provided the highest quality of standards and design to add value to the project and the region in general.”
RB International will execute this first-of-its-kind project in Bahrain with the support of main architect HOK, a global company working from its offices in London.
Al Bilad Real Estate will develop the Water Garden City project over several stages at an estimated overall cost of BD1 billion ($2.65 billion). The development will comprise commercial buildings, offices, shops and restaurants overlooking the waterfront and marina. It will also include seafacing residential buildings and plots dedicated for four different categories of hotels, which include the Coast Hotel, Marina Hotel, and the Floating Hotel.
It is expected that the project will accommodate about 25,000 people in the long term, and attract nearly 10,000 visitors a day.
RB International is a Malaysian company operating in the area of bridge design, tunnels and infrastructure and is working on many key projects in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
