JOTUN Paints has secured a massive contract to supply paint to the 3-million-sq-m King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) project in Saudi Arabia.
The state-of-the-art and fully self-contained centre for doing business and facilitating investment and enterprise currently under construction in Riyadh, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2013.
KAFD will have a total built-up area of 1.6 million sq m. With an aim to protect the structure from the elements and natural wear and tear, Jotun has recommended its Fenomastic range for the interiors and Jotashield for the exteriors, with solvent-free Jotafloor coatings for the floors.
“The King Abdullah Financial District project stands to be one of our biggest achievements in terms of decorative projects in Riyadh till date,” said Kjell Gundersen, managing director, Jotun Saudia. “Given the important role it will play in further strengthening the kingdom’s position as the Middle East’s financial capital, we are committed to ensuring that the paint solutions we will deliver will provide maximum protection for this important icon of the kingdom’s economic dominance.”
Upon its completion, KAFD will house the Capital Market Authority and the stock exchange, as well as financial institutions and other service providers.
