Al Nooh Wood Design, a division of AE Al Nooh and Sons, is putting the finishing touches to several shop fronts within the Bahrain City Centre.
“The projects are under various stages of completion and most of them should be ready in phases,” says Hussain Al Nooh, the general manager of Al Nooh Wood Design.
Some of the outlets that the company is currently involved in at the Bahrain City Centre include the Wafi Gourmet for the Al Siddique International Group; Costa Coffee, White Company clothing and Travelex Money Exchange outlets for the Jawad Business Group; Sun & Sand and Nike sports shop for Sun & Sand Sports; Chop Chop, Markati Plazzo and the Coffee Republic outlet for the Paris Group; Al Mutahajiba outlet for Al Siddique International Group; Asgharali outlet for Asgharali and Sons; Fuddruckers outlet, Caribou Coffee and Marble Slab Creamery for BBGM Company.
“For some of the outlets we have only supplied the required wood materials, but for others we have undertaken the complete turnkey project,” says Al Nooh.
Al Nooh’s early business roots were linked to traditional shipbuilding and this expertise has stood the company in good stead in the woodwork and art business.
“Since its establishment five decades earlier, Al Nooh has embodied a long tradition of craftsmanship and quality,” says Al Nooh. From modest beginnings as timber suppliers, the company has built a reputation as one of the kingdom’s premier designers and manufacturers of customised wood products and interiors.
“At Al Nooh Wood Design, we aim to provide comprehensive solutions to meet our client’s design requirements,” he continues. “Our highly talented and experienced team of designers and craftsmen constantly research new products and ideas in order to suggest options and provide the best possible solutions – in terms of design, materials, functionality, time and cost – to clients, consultants and contractors alike. We place great emphasis on continually upgrading our equipment, product ranges and human resource capabilities, and we firmly believe that it is our winning combination of old-world craftsmanship, rigorous attention to detail and the latest technology and techniques that has made us the leaders in our field.”
Over the years, the company has added a range of products and services to its portfolio which currently includes a post-forming facility, which involves the process of post-forming laminates, PVC and natural veneers; pressurised painting with chillers and drying chamber to insure dust-free environment for painting and polishing; dust extraction and filter systems to ensure dust-free environmental conditions; thermoforming processes, which involve thermoforming laminates, PVC and natural veneers on plain substrate and pre-shaped wood; and in-house glass etching, both superficial and deep.
The company also offers a wide range of high-quality and rare natural veneers and more than 40 species of solid wood, while its fully stocked warehouse is fitted with a complete range of equipment, including forklifts, cranes, trailers, trucks and transportation for large items.
Al Nooh also has over 100 high-performance steel and woodworking machines at its manufacturing facility as well as a sophisticated design and fabrication unit.
The company’s CNC processing centre allows the computerised routing and shaping of all types of surfacing with the advantages of PVC edging and optimisation, while a sophisticated design office helps combine the latest in software and hardware technology with a highly qualified team of designers and freelancers.
Al Nooh Wood Design also has the capability to undertake the fabrication of solid surfacing Gibraltar up to 12 mm and solid surfacing veneer of up to 3 mm. The company has also partnered with leading international companies, suppliers and factories.
“As we look forward to our next 50 years, Al Nooh Wood Design will work to preserve its reputation as a unique and creative company whose key values are quality, reliability and innovation,” says Al Nooh. “We recognise that our reputation rests on the satisfaction of our clients, and to this end, we are committed to executing each job, from the smallest to the largest, with the utmost attention to detail and perfection. This is one of the reasons why the company has chosen to undertake turnkey fitouts of Costa Coffee outlets across the GCC for the last five years. Recently, we also executed the fitout of the Breitling showroom in Seef Mall.”
Al Nooh Wood Design is also dedicated to being a responsible member of the community, says Al Nooh. “This includes actively seeking ways to improve our processes in ways that benefit the environment, including the reduction of waste generation and the minimisation of process emissions.”
He continues: “We also place prime importance on ensuring the safety of the Al Nooh team and will continue to apply the toughest international safety standards to all of our operations. Al Nooh would like to take this opportunity to thank our clients, suppliers and associates for their trust in us and their unwavering support of our company.”
“Al Nooh remains dedicated to enhancing its reputation as solution providers, and we look forward to another 50 years of excellence – of providing inspiration to designers, options to contractors and, above all, quality products and services to all our clients,” he concludes.
