UAE-based National Engineering Bureau (NEB), consultant for the Dh1 billion ($272.2 million) redevelopment of Madinat Badr in Dubai, is expected to complete the detailed design for the project by May.
The Madinat Badr redevelopment is part of an overall plan to fully use the land with quality residential units to supply the growing demand for such housing in the area and calls for the demolition and reconstruction of the 26-year old residential district located next to the proposed Dubailand development on the Emirates Road.
The redevelopment involves construction of an entirely new township housing 20,000 people compared to 1,000 families who are currently residing in the area.
The residential complex will consist of villas and buildings ranging from one to three storeys. It also includes mosques, shopping mall and leisure facilities.
When completed, it will turn the city into a model modern metropolis that meets the very highest standards.
