The Dubai Municipality will build 13 government housing projects in various parts of the emirate at a cost of Dh267 million ($73 million).

The projects aim at providing housing facilities to citizens throughout the emirate, according to director general Qasim Sultan.
The municipality’s government housing section is currently designing six projects at a cost of Dh140 million.
The projects include 15 government houses in Hatta at a cost of Dh14.17 million, nine houses in Al Selma in Hatta for Dh6.38 million, two houses in another Hatta village at a cost of Dh1.2 million, 21 houses in Lesely at a cost of Dh15.12 million, 87 houses in Al Mizhar at Dh45 million and 10 houses in Hor Al Anz at a cost of Dh3.2 million.
Sultan said seven projects are already under construction at an overall cost of Dh107.89 million.
These include 73 houses in Lehbab (Dh56 million), 24 houses in another village in the same area (Dh18.37 million), 12 homes in Zabeel (Dh10.14 million), a grand mosque in Port Saeed area (Dh8.87 million), a grand mosque in Al Quoz for 300 worshippers (Dh1.56 million), a grand mosque in Al Garhoud (Dh9.85 million), and a compound wall for the sewage treatment plant in Jebel Ali at a cost of Dh3.1 million.
In addition, the municipality has awarded Dh34 million ($9.2 million) of sewerage projects to Target and Jima to connect houses and buildings under construction.
A total of 110 new buildings have been connected to the network since the project began in May.
Meanwhile, Dubai Municipality   plans to build two community parks in Al Mizhar and Al Barsha areas of Dubai. The park in Al Mizhar 1 area would be set up at a total area of 3.29 hectares.
There will be a lot of greenery, shaded areas, resting places, children’s play grounds, walkways, and playgrounds for football, basketball and volleyball.
The park in Al Barsha 2 area will have a total area of 0.8 hectares and will have the same facilities as in Al Mizhar Park.
Designs for both the parks will be ready within a few months and the works are expected to begin at the end of this year.
The municipality opened seven new community facilities in Al Garhoud, Al Jafiliya, Satwa, Al Qouz, Al Matina and Hor Al Anz last month.
The biggest among these facilities, which costs Dh4.09 million, is located in Jafliya and has a total area of 1.2 hectares.
